Right, as a Ger, am I going to hide?. No.
The truth, as the X-Files said, is out there. And it isn't pretty. Sometimes it takes something like today, to expose to the world what badly needs to be done. Sometimes days like today are a blessing in disguise. BUT they need to be acted upon, and quickly. Rangers simply aren't nearly good enough. Not to challenge Celtic or for the title. Unless the team and management ups their game, we are going to struggle to get a European place. And no way will we beat Celtic even if we get to the LC Final. We made a good Celtic side look like Barcelona or Bayern. Brendan has built a quality team at CP, but no way should they ever beat a Rangers side 5-1. No OF team should beat the other by a cricket score. Shambolic. Our defence is a shambles, our midfield far too slow, Warburton is out of his depth frankly. Forget 'no plan B', the biggest issue is that his 4-3-3 DOES NOT WORK. Opposition teams are simply overrunning us in midfield, we need to switch to a 4 4 2 or 4 1 3 2 system. Or even 4 1 4 1. Games are won and lost in the middle of the park. We have quality players, but too many average players as well. For every McKay, O'Halloran and Waghorn, we have a Kiernan. Senderos was an idiot, but he has the excuse of just being in the club, Kiernan has been mince since the SC SF. I am actually GLAD he might be injured. IMO until the stupid handball, Senderos was actually better than Kiernan. Warburton needs to be ruthless and start dropping players in defence and midfield. And there are players available as free agents we can sign. Too many players today off form. Wallace may give you 100% and be great going forward, but some of us have been saying his whole career at Ibrox that he is a average defender, always drifts inside and gets caught by cross balls. Today he was turned inside out. Barton?. Shape up or frankly **** off back to Burnley. The much derided Halliday did more in 45m than he did in 90. And played Brown off the pitch in April, unlike Barton who was second best all day. To Scott Brown. FFS. Barton has done next to f'all since signing. BTW, I never wanted him. And I will link anyone here to my posts on several Gers forums where I said so. Niko?. Clearly still not match fit, but despite the wholesale slagging, he at least tried for 30 mins to pass the ball, and made one of two lovely passes. I fear he will become a whipping boy for players today who were as bad. Niko being slow is OK IF we have quick players around him. Like Holt or Rossiter or even Halliday. Congratulations Celtic. You deserved it today and then some. Enjoy the win, enjoy the next three months. See you again in Dec/Jan. |

Was on train so didn't see the game yet.
5-1 battering. A victory for the good guys. Super scoreboard will be fun. All week they were claiming Celtic fans are delusional believing Celtic can win 5-0, 5-1 etc. Keevins must be heartbroken. SenDROSS getting the red card doesn't surprise me. His dreadful. Dembele is very raw but that kid is going to get a whole lot better. Where is the poster who likes to say the name Brenda? TBH, whilst you easily deserved the win, we were so bad, I think the Dons or Hearts could have beaten us 5-1 today. |

I was surprised when Barton and Kranjcar started. No legs with those two and Warburton was asking for trouble.
Seen the goals. Dembele's first touch on his hat-trick goal was class. Maybe the semi final last year was the best thing to happen. They say Desmond was fuming afterwards due to how the sevco higher ups were celebrating and that's what drove him to go and get a top manager. As to the SF story, I don't believe it. A story based on heresay. I am close friends with two Ibrox legends, and both were at Hampden in that area that day and have told me that the story is utter bollocks. The Gers directors were delighted, near to tears I am told, but alleged crass behaviour didn't happen. In fact I am told the Gers board was raging at the story. And considered suing the newspaper. I believe Des simply saw what the Gers board saw today: the manager wasn't good enough. Nor the team. I am also family friends with a certain Saltcoats born legendary Bhoy. I am sure you can guess who..........

Dave King I feel will be the one who gets the stick eventually as people will expect him to put up the money for better players. |

Celtic are remembering those who died during the Great Hunger today as the commemoration is being held in Ireland tomorrow. |

The one shining light for Rangers today:
Josh Windass. His play was superb to watch, when he got the limited chance to run. |

I wondered why I read it's an internal matter.
I agree with Tim though: both sides have their idiots who do this. All I can say in mitigation is that 99% of fans on Gers forums and FB are angry at the idiots who may have done this. They are an embarrassment to the club. Find them and ban them sine die. We have our bampots, but we don't need to indulge them. |

Many Protestants suffered and died in the Famine, a fact amazingly ignored and almost unknown in the UK and Ireland. And abroad. A fact that shatters the myth of deliberate British genocide vs the Irish.
Wasn't there also diseased crop in Scotland. Wasnt mass deaths there. Wasn't the British government exporting food outside of Ireland as people were starving to death? |

Not really. The British decided Protestants and Catholics would starve to death and let it happen. Can you really deny that the British didn't stand by and let it happen.

Well played Celtic. As for Rangers we've signed a lot of players and we clearly haven't got things right at the moment. We'll see how it goes....

So when you were waxing lyrical on here about Barton being a great player it was bullshit?
You only come on this thread for a dig against Celtic, your posts tell the real story. I am disappointed so far in him. He has the quality to be one of the best players in the league, he isn't as sharp in terms of speed as hoped, then again he is 33. I hoped he would compensate for lack of pace at 33 by his nous. We aren't seeing that. You will note I am not condemning him totally, I am saying he needs to up his game between now and the New Year/next OF game. Like Niko, I am still prepared to give him time. |

Makes your supports singing of the The Famine Song even worse doesn't it?
And it was genocide, the British exported food from Ireland whilst the Irish were dying. They could have kept them alive but murdered them instead. No, it wasn't. The British scrapped laws to help the situation and the British govt bought grain and food at national expense and sent it to Ireland. Emotive nonsense like murdered helps the understanding not a jot. The British could have done more, could have done things better and differently. But that's different from deliberate genocide. Was it/is it a dark stain on British history?. Yes. Did the British (govt) do enough?. No. But was it genocide?. No. |

The government were wedded to a lassiz faire economic policy and were more guilty of crass indifferencento their citizens. This was at a time when Irish Catholics were portrayed in caricatures in England as sub human ape like creatures which may give some insight into the lack of concern. |

I'll give you credit for coming on here after that defeat. Unlike Frankie who won't be. I don't hide. Real fans don't. I love my club. 0-10 or 10-0. I used to go in the dark 80s, when Dad and I would be one of 15-20000 a game. A full Ibrox only for OF, European and maybe Aberdeen/D Utd. So I actually started following Rangers when there was every reason NOT to. I could easily have been a gloryhunter and followed Fergie's Dons, McLean's Utd. But Rangers are in my family and have been since before WW1. I can trace my fan history back to my great-grandfather (born in the 1880s), who was going to Ibrox probably around or even before 1900. |

Childish nonsense from Scott Brown, but then I don't expect any less. I wouldn't expect such from a McStay or an Aitken, but then they are greats/legends, Brown never will be.
Immature man and player, all comments like that do is steel opposing players resolve. |

That has nothing to do with Kris Boyd's brother as well you know.
It is about the old club being dead, nothing more. To do so just days after the above tragic suicide is at best tasteless. |
