There was no good draw for Morton.

I don't mind Morton, been in their end a few times a while ago when my mate played for them. Remember a cracking atmosphere at a league cup game at the old Rugby Park when Morton beat them years ago.

Apart from Billy dodds cheating us out of a win in a 96 league cup tie, diving in the last minute to win a penalty to take game to extra time which we went on to lose 7-3 nothing against Aberdeen especially with Del Boy in charge

I see Aberdeen anyway have confirmed on twitter the game is at Hampden 22nd October a 1215 kick off

Apparently Celtic didn't want a Saturday lunchtime game as they have a Champions League game the Wednesday before. As Sky have already scheduled an SPFL fixture for noon on the Sunday 2.15 was the earliest kick off time allowed for BT Sport

While Wednesday-Saturday is usually fine, I believe clubs do have a veto on a lunchtime kick-off.

Saturday evening was obviously out and the SPFL wouldn't want to clash with a league game. Hence, Sunday 2.15pm.

Morton v Aberdeen at Hampden is a dreadful decision. They'll be lucky if it's half-full.

Unless Morton are bringing around 10,000 then it's a shocking decision.

The Aberdeen - St Johnstone semi at Tynecastle a couple of years ago was a sell out and the atmosphere was fantastic. It would also look far better on tv to see a packed ground rather than a 1/3 full stadium with a rubbish atmosphere.

That was the game when Dodds and the Real Windass scored all 7 between them.

At least Andy Ritchie won't be playing. Guy haunted us for years.

The problem is there are no 25000- 30000 Scottish stadiums however these are needed when it's the Edinburgh clubs, Dundee United, Aberdeen etc meeting each other there are none so they go to Hampden by default .

If any of these clubs are not playing each other or old firm in semis they should always be in Edinburgh

A 25,000 stadium would be ideal for those matches.

I think there were 1,000 or so who missed out when we played St Johnstone but I'd still rather see a few locked out than 30,000 empty seats.

Just listened to Sutton slaughtering him there, superb. Derek Johnstone is a big blubbering daftie and a Sevco mouthpeice, he is an embarrassment as is Dalziel also on Clyde, both of them sound like they share the one brain cell, how they got jobs in the media I dont think anyone could tell you.

Nobody can really disagree with Sutton either, says referees are shite - they are, says Forrester should have been off - he should, says Warburtons clueless - he is, says Sevco got pumped - they did, says Ronny was clueless - he was, says Celtic were shite in Europe - they were etc he just says things how they are that others wouldnt.

Other guys in the media are all back patting and scared to say a word about anyone and spout nonsense we've all hear a million to just go through matches and collect their pay.

Chris Sutton "the last time the Rangers were drubbed, pumped... humiliated"
Is that the same Chris Sutton who squealed like a newborn and claimed that Dunfermline lay down to the bears in the league decider in 2003??

Seems he is still spouting the same shite - does he have many debts nowadays??

The same Sutton who failed miserably as a manager at Lincoln? Couldn't lace Johnstone's boots as a player either.

That's the problem we have in Scotland, even when Hearts redevelop Tynecastle it won't be a 25k capacity stadium. Hibs can get just over 20k at Easter Road and Aberdeen 21k if a semi final was held there but then the jump goes to 50k which, as you say, means loads of empty seats in the stadium.

BT Sport will be absolutely lapping all of this up.

BFDJ going on about Sutton not possibly knowing what he said about Whyte and Green is akin to the journo who claimed that Craig Whyte paid to have his google history deleted.

Aberdeen statement read out on Radio Scotland basically saying they don't want the semi final at Hampden and certainly not at the kick off time it has.

It certainly was.

It might sound bizarre but I am still thinking we are lacking a bit of killer instinct.

Far too many shots not hitting the target.

Won't have a choice of kick off time as part of the new deal was both semis live on tv.

Perhaps it could get moved to Edinburgh though

Apart from fewer empty seats what would moving it to Edinburgh do? It will save Aberdeen fans from the city 20 miles on their journey whilst adding about 60 miles onto the journey of Morton fans.

How many Morton fans are expected to go to the game?
