3 Aberdeen players on Ireland's bench tonight and another started for NI last night. We seem to always have numerous Irish players nowadays,

Scotland need 3 points from the game on Tuesday night now. 7 points from the 3 games they've had must have been the minimum expectation of the management team. Anything less than that is a poor return.

Even if players don't get on the pitch in international games it is a good experience for them that'll hold them in good stead.

He's not coming back, they clearly want him to spit the dummy and get him off the wage bill. Hope he stands his ground.

As for WGS, remember when every man and his dug accused Celtic fans of wanting rid of him because he wasn't "Celtic-Minded"? No it was because his teams were murder to watch, he makes bizarre choices and never admits he's made a c**t of it.

This is no better than the performance against Lithuania.

Shambolic stuff from the Scots now, I don't think Slovakia are that good a side.

He's definitely gone after this.

In retrospect, he probably should have been sacked last autumn when the team started going backwards in their group and ended up only fourth,

I highly doubt Strachan will fancy the next game (away to England) so I think he will walk - fact is he hasn't looked up for the job for some time and should never have been given another contract, that decision seemingly was solely his.

Some heads need to start rolling at the SFA as we are going nowhere - except backwards.

Scotland have never recovered from letting Smith and then McLeish walk away.

Been going nowhere ever since.

Forget the England games, no reason why Scotland can't finish 2nd under new boss.

England won't drop any more points.

But this group will likely be the group where second gets nothing.

The results against the bottom team are discounted as well

He got a standing ovation for failing to qualify from a group where 3 teams qualified from. Should never have been given a new contract.

If McNamara, Strachan and McGhee all got the dunt in the same week it would make my year.

This will be the group where 2nd doesn't make it. 99% certain of that.

Yes, and Scotland were in a strong third in the group in mid 2015 and then went backwards. Alarm bells should have been ringing at the end of the campaign.

I firmly believe we have the talent, they just never pick the right squads

Difficult to see WGS recovering from that.

For the baying mob, who takes over?

You need a manager who'll inspire the team, don't think there are any Scots available though.

Strachan didn't seem to be talking like someone who's going to resign....

I'm sure Scotland fans wouldn't say it could only be a Scottish manager given how many of them have messed up in the past.

Will someone go halfers on pay ala Denis O'Brien and Giovanni Trapatoni?

Hilarious to see the Level 5 fed Daily Record trying to link what Celtic staff invested their tax paid wages on to the wholesale tax evasion scheme that another team from Glasgow did.

Countless individuals and organisations look to reduce their tax liabilities. I understand the objections to it but some of those who were kicking up a fuss about it not so long ago look a bit silly now.

Poor Callum, you seen unable to differentiate between what an employer does and what an employee does with the wages that they have paid tax and PAYE on.

What the employee invested their wages on has nothing to do with the employer.

What a poor side Scotland are, the humiliation was completed by wearing that hideous f@#&ing pink strip.

How things may "seem" to you and reality are two different things of course.

It all comes down to individuals in the end. Individuals decide what to do and many choose to try to reduce their tax liability or the tax liability of the organisations they control.

The players we have aren't great but the question must be asked whether another manager could get more out of them. We've seen other teams who don't have squads full of superstars doing pretty well.
