Despite Craig Thomson's decision not to award the Erik goal - fully deserved 1-0 win for Celtic.

Celtic dominated that for large spells and on another day would've had 3-4 goals.
BBJ said if it wasn't for the goalie, it would have been 4-5 ....... Wonder now if the press will round on Warbs ?

We weren't at the races and deserved nothing from the game - Celtic could have won by 4 or 5 on another day and none of our new signings look up to the challenge. How in the name of hell did we manage to spend £1.8 million on Joe Garner ffs??

Only real bright spot was our keeper but I will stick my neck out and say Wes will be straight back in next game ...

Thought Jozo Simunovic was superb alongside Erik - rotating with Kolo will see us in good stead for the remainder of the season.

Quite an easy game for us I thought, we weren't really troubled but always looked like scoring. Sviatchenko's goal was fine, Craig Thompson at it again, absolutley detest him, sneakily also blew when Dembele volleyed from a corner in the first half too which was blocked on the line when absolutley nothing happened either, trying to save his boyhood heroes twice, like he did the last Cup semi too when he blew and pulled back play when Griffiths was going in on goal. Can't wait until he retires.

Agree with the above too, Simunovic was MOTM for me, timing to intercept was great, good block on their only real shot which was a good chance and he won everything in the air and carried and passed the ball forward well. Brown was also solid in midfield.

Rogic was ok, turned players and got into good positions and had a few shots but he looked tired and like he could have done with a rest today. Sinclair and Forrest didnt do a lot and Dembele was rarely involved although decent when he was, nice taken goal as well.

Bitton was lacadazical and slow, Armstrong far better when he came on added more tempo, running and got about the pitch a lot better. Bitton should come out the team now he's not doing much at all.

Lustig and Tierney done ok but not their most effective games going forward.

Overall it was comfortable and the score was really a 1-0 going on 4-0. 2 or 3 nil would have been a fair result, Celtic never played too great but we were too good and they couldnt really lay a glove on us.

The Rangers I thought Windass was very poor, slow and always caught on the ball. Rest of their team were pretty average they were losing the ball too quick and couldnt really get into the game. Keeper saved a 4/5 possible goals. Their subs of Waghorn and Garner didnt really get involved unlike Armstrong and Griffiths who added more pace and got us more chances and both could have scored.

I don't think you can blame the manager today for them. They just don't have the same quality as Celtic. Look at Celtic's bench today, i they had De Vries, Toure, Gamboa, Armstrong, McGregor, Roberts and Griffiths they would all be in their team, Toure would probably be their captain and him, Roberts and Griffiths would be easily their best players yet these guys are sitting on our bench.

In comparison, I honestly don't think a single player of their would make the Celtic bench. Infact there's guys who don't make the Celtic bench who would get a game for them O'Connell, Izaguirre, Henderson, Ajer, Mackay-Steven, Commons, Christie and Ciftci and Scott Allan who's out on loan, those players are the same calibre or even better than players like Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace, Halliday, Holt, Windass, McKay, Forrester, Waghorn and Garner.

Like Liam Henderson and Scott Allan are for me better than Halliday, Holt and Windass. GMS, Commons and Ciftci are really similar to McKay, Waghorn and Garner, thats a toss up. O'Connell is better than any of their centre-halves. Ambrose I forgot too would get a game for them and Boyata, we actually have 3 centre-halves who never get a game who are better than the guys playing for them.

They need 5/6 signings the calibre of Sviatchenko, Lustig, Brown, Sinclair, Rogic and Dembele who will cost near £2million apeice if their scouting is good enough but considering they spent that on Garner then it's likely their scouting is rotten.

A very onesided game but the longer it went on the more nervy I got. Better team won in the end.

There was a fan who collapsed in the Rangers end towards the end of the game. Anybody know if they are okay?

1-0

The rangers 42% possession 8 shots 3 on target 1 corner

Celtic have had 77 shots against them in the 3 meetings in 2016

In the 4 meetings combined between the clubs so far

Celtic 10 goals The rangers 3 goals
Celtic 89 shots The rangers 24 shots
Celtic 31 on target The rangers 8 on target
Celtic 24 corners The rangers 12 corners

But they outplayed us in spells yesterday and the gap that wasn't there after the 5-1 game has now narrowed and got smaller.

Should be a decent final, best two teams in the country. Hopefully be a good match with a favourable result.

Aberdeen and Celtic have played 25 domestic matches between them this season and the only time either has lost was when they played each other.

They beat us both games at Pittodrie last season, it'll be close.

Livi made to head back to Belfast to play Crusaders after fielding an ineligible in their Irn Bru Cup game. Should have been chucked out.

Our players were scared incase he nicked their boots again. That's why we released him.

Only goal conceded in our last 440 minutes was a penalty, you'll do well to pump us.

And like you I hope that we do, it'll dishearten them before the League Cup final.

The game against Aberdeen will be our 5th in 2 weeks including a trip up to Dingwall, does anyone know if we still fly up to Inverness for the games up north or if we get a coach?

We could be getting back to Glasgow about 3am on Thursday morning then getting a coach up to Aberdeen on Friday afternoon. Not great preparations.

Seems Celtic are resting players for it.

Gordon, Gamboa, Lustig, Sviatchenko, Izaguirre, Henderson, McGregor, Roberts, Armstrong, Christie, Griffiths the supposed team tonight.

Toure, Simunovic, Tierney, Brown, Bitton, Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair and Dembele rested.

A lot of changes so not suprising if Celtic drop points but the changes had to made and the points arent that important just now.

Flattering 4-0 win - far more difficult than Sunday's semi.

Chance to go 10 points clear at the weekend and still have a game in hand - it's not even November yet.

Despite there not being a big 'gap' I make that 9 points clear of Rangers with a game in hand.

It was flattering, Ross County had some decent chances but couldn't convert them and we did ours. That's why we're champions I guess.

They seemed to have more chances against us than any other team have domestically this season, could have had 3/4 goals themselves. It was an open game with a lot of good attacking.

Gap now 7 on Aberdeen with a game in hand. Win at the weekend and it could be 10 with a game in hand. We're in danger of being 20 points clear by Christmas.

Best performance against us since Hearts away I thought.

Was a bit worried with us resting so many but your posts about strength in depth really were correct tonight.
