Hampden should never of been built. Waste of money and worse was why build a stadium that looks like that? Could you get anything more generic.
Apart from the main stand it was rebuilt on the cheap.

I like their being a national stadium though.

Hampden is a horrible stadium, the only reason anyone says anything good about it is purely down to nostalgia when Hampden used to play host 100k+ crowds.
I caught a little bit of the athletics at the weekend and it actually looks worse with the running track, the spectators are even further from the action than at a football match. We should just cut our losses and sell it to Barrett homes or Tesco, Scotland games could travel round the country with bigger games getting played at Celtic Park/Ibrox(if it ever gets done up).

It would have been better had it not been for Rangers.

While everyone else in the country was behind Hampden being redeveloped, Rangers objected and claimed that Scotland internationals and cup finals could be played at Ibrox. And they were listened to. It wasn't until 1992 that public money was secured to make it all-seater.

The main stand is the only decent part of the ground - you can tell it was added last when a lot more money was made available from the National Lottery.
Don't worry Dundee won't ever have to worry about playing at Hampden.

SFA charging £250 for a season ticket for 6 games- Georgia, Ireland, England, Gibraltar, Germany & Poland- £41.66 a game. And they say that includes a £35 discount on buying individually. Assuming they aren't actually going to charge £47.50 to get into Scotland v Gibraltar, that England friendly is going to be hideously expensive.

People would pay double that against England or if we are in for a shout of qualifying demand always outstrips supply. Playing the world champions is a draw as well.

Still, I'm going to grumble!

You have to pay £55 for a membership to buy a £250 ST as well. Also only the Georgia game is on a Saturday, Gibraltar is on a Sunday and the other 4 are 7.45pm midweek.

Yeah that is taking the piss didn't realise that £55 fee applied. There is a real optimism about this Scotland team though and a realistic chance of qualifying which might make the financial outlay a bit easier to swallow. If you are already a season ticket holder at your club though £305 quid on top of that in this economy is pricing folk out of the game.

The price of tickets has to come down.

I'm just annoyed because I paid the £55 for Scotland supporters club membership expecting it would be 5 games at about £30 average meaning a season ticket would be about £150. I guess you should always expect football to be more expensive than you'd hope.

You need to factor in the cost of travel, food, drink and a programme. Then if we have a crap start you won't be able to give away the tickets. The people buying the season tickets must be minted or so the SFA thinks at those prices.

You must admit though, Celtic Park is looking great with all the improvements the council are paying for.

Meanwhile Ibrox is starting to look like the Pontiac Silverdome.

I usually get West stand tickets so it's £190 for me, an absolute disgrace

Individual ticket prices for west stand are £32, for Germany and ireland dont mind paying but for a glorified pub team from a rock in the sea it's an absolute joke

Ibrox?

Given the state of Ibrox these days that would probably be for the best.

Infact, just knock it down and the rest of Scottish football would be happy.

No Celtic Park. What the council are doing is like putting lipstick on Susan Boyle.

Cheaper than I was expecting your answer to be.

I was expecting you to say something around the £50 mark so the SFA were pegging ticket prices for the England game to that, the Germany game the same and then the other games would be cheaper.

It must hurt when you see the Celtic Way and the improvements at Celtic Park whilst the inside of Ibrox rusts away. Is there still scaffolding to hold up the roof in the Broomloan? For obvious reasons it has been a while since I've been there so I don't know if it is still there.

£42 for the North/South stands for Gibraltar!

England is £55 for the Main/North stands.
