Celtic were dire over the two legs. They have been on a slippery slope the last few years. The level of performances has dropped.
If they lose the guys mentioned above the SPL could be interesting this season

Yes they have drifted from 1/50 all the way out to 1/33 Let's face it the other SPL teams are hardly world beaters.

Ronny Deila, "I have inherited a squad that is not good enough at this level We have a budget and we have to bring in better quality players"

Is this guy for real?
This was a squad who sneaked through qualifying last season and then did nothing of note in the groups. It is a squad who surrendered without a fight to Aberdeen in the cup. In short, it is not good enough.

Why would the Celtic board bring in better players after they went out of the champions league? They will win the league at a canter and expect Deila to produce good youngsters not buy finished articles so they could pay them big money for beating Motherwell by 30 points.

Celtic really are suffering that there is no competition in their league.

Legia Warsaw have released a statement saying they may have fielded an ineligible player last night.

If true, the usual would be to award the game 3-0 to the opposition = Celtic through.

I said at the time of Rangers' demotion that the unadulterated glee being shown by many Celtic fans was myopic and that the whole affair was a disaster for both clubs. The only good thing was that MAYBE a few clubs in the Scottish Premiership would benefit from suddenly having a realistic chance of finishing second and may become more competitive as a result.

The excitement of Celtic's season has surely dissipated before they've even kicked a ball in the league - even the most blinkered of Celtic fans must be secretly longing for Rangers to return?

Bartosz Beresynski is the player in question.

Meanwhile St Johnstone were 1-0 up at HT - need score at least 2 goals to go through.

Imagine getting reinstated and then humped again.

He came on for the last 4 minutes, just as Celtic were going to push on and give a 6 goal humping.

It's likely the draw will still take place tomorrow, with Legia in it. So if Celtic are reinstated, they would still be in the "champions path" but facing a seeded team.

He could have come on for the last second and it wouldn't have made a difference - the rules on ineligible players are pretty clear.

Has that ever happened before? An ineligible player is schoolboy stuff.

Seems Bartosz Beresynski was sent off in last season's final EL group game for Legia vs Apollon Limassol for violent conduct.

I can only assume he was given more than the standard 3 match ban or that Legia hadn't registered him as a player for the St Pat's games.

Yes - Sion fielded several ineligible players when they beat us a few years ago.

STV seem to believe he wasn't registered for the St Pat's V Legia tie.

UEFA regulations according to Grant Russell state he would have to be registered to serve the ban.

He only played the final few minutes last night as well.

Who would Celtic potentially face? The decision will need to be made pretty quickly although I don't see how you can think you might have played an eligible player it seems pretty black and white if he's eligible.

Salzburg
Steaua Bucharest
Apoel
BATE Borisov
Ludogorets Razgrad

I assume any punishment is after the draw.

Some difficult teams there although nobody I would fear that much if they are in the draw. Forster, VvD and Commons won't be packing their cases to move down south just yet.

If Celtic were to be awarded a 3-0 win for last night - Legia would take Celtic's place in the EL.
