If Tonev has been found guilty because the SFA think he probably was racist then I can't see why Celtic wouldn't back his word if he says he wasn't.
Does seem that it's one man's word versus other with no other witnesses. Will await the full judgement. Make it public. Send him back to Villa. Shame Tonev in front of everyone. |

You can't send him back to Villa when you're saying this: Quote:
Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev has been banned for seven matches for racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan. You can hardly take some moral high ground either when you signed Leigh Griffiths when you knew he was making statements like this:Celtic say they will appeal against the punishment, saying the Bulgarian is "not a racist" and the club "absolutely abhors racism of any kind" Quote:
Hibernian striker Leigh Griffiths is facing disciplinary action over a racist comment on Twitter. If you know that then you can hardly be surprised when he does something like this:In response to a tweet, Griffiths told user Zak Iqbal to go "back to your own country". Quote:
Scottish Refugee Council chief John Wilkes slammed the “raw racism and ignorance” in the online video showing Griffiths chanting “Rudi Skacel’s a f****** refugee”.
Phone up Dalglish and get the Tonev t-shirts printed.

Some interesting games in the cup this weekend.
Hurlford will fancy themselves against Stirling Albion as will Bo'ness against Elgin CIty. |

There must be a lot of evidence for such a long suspension.
Make it public. Send him back to Villa. Shame Tonev in front of everyone. Sounds about the norm for your lot that ... and you wonder why you guys are hated in every corner of GB.

So to sum up ... the bhoy did wrong but as he is just on loan you think you can simply wash your hands of him (despite it hapening under your watch) as you already have one (verified) racist on you books ... two would be pushing it even for you mob and may impact on your self proclaimed ideal of the bestest fans in the world.

Think you'll find Rangers fans are still hated more. Still, your club is comedy gold at the moment.

Tonev is turning into your Luis Suarez and not in the good way. You've had Leigh Griffiths say his piece, Nir Bitton controversy, Celtic fans being racist in the Legia spanking and now Tonev receiving a 7 game ban for racism. If you listen closely you can hear the broom being shouted for to sweep all this under the carpet.

Rangers vs Celtic is the tie of the last few years never mind the round. Dundee Utd vs Aberdeen doesn't even get a look in.

Rangers have already beaten the Scottish Cup winners to progress to this stage. No Dundee Utd or Aberdeen players would get into the Rangers team.

Telfer who couldn't get a sniff at Rangers? The rest of those listed wouldn't make the bench. Aberdeen don't have any players that could get in the Rangers team either. Your last suggestion was Shay Logan.....

Just so I've got this straight - there is someone on here suggesting that none of the players in the current premiership league leaders team would get into the team who aren't even top of the league below?

This will be a brutal game, glad i wont be on the streets of Glasgow on that day.
To say Rangers are the underdogs is an understatement, Celtic will (should) run rings round them, might be embarrassing, but you never know with these things, could be the shock result of the decade, but i doubt it. ![]() The pressure is on Celtic here though, they NEED to thrash rangers, if they scrape by or even get beat.....gawd.
