One of my FB friends just flew to Australia on Malaysian Airlines. Lots of updates about how great it is that the ticket was so cheap, the plane was empty so he could stretch out etc. Erm, it was cheap and empty because of two crashes that cost people their lives!

Also, Scottish thing, all the Yes supporters putting '45' badges on their profile pics. Aren't we supposed to be moving on and uniting as a nation instead of emphasising our division? (The '45' refers to the 45% who voted for independence).”

BIB - This!

I got rid of my Facebook for the week before and after the Vote. Was really annoying me. And the 45% thing is just pathetic it never went through get over it instead of wearing it like some sort of Badge.

No. Not mean at all. I would have laughed like a drain

How the heck do people fall for this crap”

I'll look forward to the usual gullible idiots sharing this one then!

And when you challenge them (like I have done with similar scare stories before, they'll respond, "Well you can never be too sure", or, "If it saves just one dog it will be worth it" as it they're telling me they KNOW it's not real, but hey, what's the harm in sharing it still.

Two from my news feed this morning:
Someone has checked themselves into A&E as they have a splinter in their foot
Someone else has posted that we should close the UK borders to stop the spread of ebola

I hate statuses on FB like these:
. Pissed off
. Fed up
. as they don't mention why they are in this way.

Also sick of a few of my FB friends having to put a photo of their sprogs everyday.

Oh dear, now people are pretending to be slugs:

"I know nobody will read my status but sometimes, when I'm bored, I get wrapped up in a sleeping bag and lather butter all over myself and slide around the kitchen floor pretending I'm a slug. X"

Isn't that a 'game' from a couple of weeks ago, although back then it was something about pretending to be a carrot or something. The rules are that if you question what is posted, you have to then post something equally inane as your punishment.

It's the 21st Century social media equivalent of chain letters for morons.

Two of my Facebook friends have just posted up their first pregnancy scans. All the comments have been like 'Congratulations Faye and Mark' 100 times.

I noticed your post before reading the end of the one you were talking about, and ended up reading it to the tune of the song. It actually fits surprisingly well!

I've seen about 4 scan pictures over the weekend and they all look identical. Really don't see the point of scan pictures, they're just a blurry alien looking blob. If you mixed their picture up with 10 others they wouldn't be able to pick out their own.

I've also had a "Happy 7 month birthday to my little man". Seriously? She's pretty much done it every month since he was born. Firstly, since when has a birthday been a monthly thing? Secondly, unless he's the most advanced 7 month old in the world he's not going to be reading her Facebook message. It's the equivalent of writing him a birthday card and then posting it to your friends houses.

One of my 'friends' recently had a picture of her son the day he was born and a pic of him now (he's 3) saying she cant believe he has grown up. Her job is '*son's name* mum'.

A while back I had someone who kept posting that she couldn't believe that her "little man" was 6 months old, then she couldn't believe he was 7 months old and so on and so on. After I'd read this every month for a while I eventually replied with a link to an article on the human ageing process hoping that if she understood that humans age she might be less disbelieving when it happens to her "little man". She unfriended me. Not a great loss.

Yes! The same ones who poopoo links to ancient urban legends on Snopes and Hoax Slayer with "Aye but this actually happened in Asda Hamilton last week to my friend's cousin's daughter's pal."

Just saw this posted by a friend

2014 IS THE FIRST YEAR IN 666 YEARS THAT HALLOWEEN FALLS ON A FRIDAY THE 13TH

*Facepalm*

I didn't want to say anything so as not to make my friend look a complete fool, better to just quietly think it.

Oh no! I just saw the exact same status and was (overly) excited to post about it here, but I guess you guys beat me to it!

Still, the person who posted it is (for once) someone that I'm relatively close to, so I got to ever-so-smugly point out their foolishness! They didn't reply, just removed the status!

Ha ha - apparently it's a 'twibbon' doncha know!

It's really pathetic but apparently all the 'yes' voters are going to rallies etc and getting all the 'young uns' to join the SNP - that'll serve all those old beggars right!

Spotted this one today, it showed in my feed when a friend commented on it telling them it was a hoax.

One of my friends has shared a picture of an Oxo cube, with the following caption:

"I dare everyone who loved Linda Bellingham to hang an oxo cube on their Christmas tree as a bauble to make sure her wish to make it to Christmas was not in vain...."

Now I'm sorry that Lynda Bellingham has died, but really?!

Oh my God, they can't be serious?

Linda Bellingham was so much more than the Oxo mum as well, it's ridiculous.

What lately annoys me is far-right groups hijacking an image/page for their own purposes (eg putting the 'We will remember them' poppy image up and hoping people will share it, not noticing who they are).

I forgot Poppy Day's coming up.

I think I'll not log on to Facebook for a few weeks.
