Someone on my Facebook has just posted a picture of her newly decorated Christmas tree! Apparently it's her tradition to put the tree up on the Saturday after Halloween... As much as I like Christmas, I think she's crazy LOL!

Some people shouldnt be allowed access to their bank accounts!

Someone told me how she had been scammed out of money on facebook after signing up to a page where they send you beauty freebies to test out in return for you writing s short review about them. She had to give her bank details to cover the £2.95 p&p.

She did that and received a very small sample of face cream like she was expecting and then wrote a review. When she checked her bank statement that company had taken £70 out of her account. She went to the bank and there was nothing they could do. The next week a further £70 was taken out so her bank shut down her account.

On my facebook feed today one of these pages come up as i have friends who have liked it. Of all the comments most of them are similar stories to my friends about people having large sums of money withdrawn from their accounts. People are warning its a scam but the amount of people who are ignoring and signing up for it is unreal!

Surely if so many people are saying its too good to be true you would believe them!

Exactly.

Apparently the way the company get around it is by sending a very small sample to you and if you dont return it unused within 10 days then they claim you have chosen to buy it and withdraw the cash.

Not sure how they get around it as the victims never sign up to that agreement but thats how they explain withdrawing money from peoples accounts.

The worrying thing is some people probably dont check their account so dont realise they are paying £70 a week for samples of products that dont cost that much to buy the full sized item!

Not a status but today it's 10 years since my father died and my family are really annoying me on Facebook. Firstly they keep messaging me with *hugs* and "thinking of you <3" comments which you know, is fine, but means I'm put in a position where I have to say something in return to them (and I'd rather deal with things my own way) and then they started writing on my wall, tagging me in photos and statuses and videos and basically putting pressure on me to do the same as them or make a big status about it. One of my cousins has already posted a novel in her status about how much she misses him and stuff and I dunno, I'd rather they just kept that sort of private stuff out of everyone's news feeds.

This gem! I will shorten it because its long but you get the idea...

Poster: "8 months until our big day! Cant wait to marry you *fiance* .... (Long rambling post about how in love they are)

Followed by about 6 nice messages about how excited her friends are, and then this..

Uncle: what? My invite says the wedding is next week. Ive booked time off work already.
Poster: didnt dad tell you? We had to delay it by 8 months.
Friend 1: when were you going to tell me?
Friend 2: wouldve been nice to have been told! Were you gona send new invites out or just let people turn up next week?
Poster: well i told some people and they were meant to spread it so everyone knew! Not doing new invites just for a date change. Its same time and place just diff date
Friend 2: what date????

My moneys on some people turning up next week! Seriously know who invites people to a wedding and then doesnt inform them that its been posponed for 8 months? I mean its a week before the original day and she hasnt told most of the guests!

It even goes to show that one post on FB as soon as they found out would tell a lot of them

Wow! What a way to inadvertently inform people! You'd think the first thing you'd do is tell all your guests!

Not a status update as such but something I noticed the other day. Was out for dinner and "checked in" at the pub / restaurant - and you know how it searches the local area for places? Well, there is a prison about 2 miles from the pub I was in and it came up! And over 300 people had "checked in" there on FB?! Why would ANYONE "check in" on FB to a PRISON?!
This is brilliant!

I haven't seen it mentioned but apologies if it has, and its not a status but something else that annoys me. It's people that you may have known years ago, met only the once or know only as a friend of a friend that friend requests you, like your pictures, statuses etc but will totally blank you or be too shy to say hello when you see them out in public.

Exactly!

The weirdest part is if you scroll through her page, almost every update is about the bloody wedding! Theres several waiting for the postman statuses, ones about her deciding on the table decs, ones in detail about the favours etc,

Yet she keeps the most important bit of news a secret!

Ooohh...keep us posted with the fallout from next week when the original date passes and guests are sat in the church wondering who the people getting married are because they look nothing like the people they expected

I will keep an eye out

I dare say judging by the kind of people they are, all of the guests are probably facebook friends anyway!

But there will always be one or two who slip through the net!

Cant believe the cheek though that theyve rearranged the wedding but dont want to send out new invites! Im not suprised though because the wedding was rush organised in a few months and theyve split uo and got back together after a public facebook slanging match a few weeks ago so thats probably why it was rearranged!

One of my friends has posted a picture of a man clutching his chest, with the caption, "Share if you hate cancer. Ignore if you want your parents to die of it."

I have no words.

I had someone on my Facebook posting selfies of themselves smiling infront of the poppies at Tower of London. Is it just me or is this a tad inappropriate? It's a tribute to the war dead so it's like doing a selfie at a cemetery!

I see more and more people posting this rubbish about Ebola being a man made disease designed to wipe out Africans, and spread by the red cross.

I don't know where it's come from but the new annoying fad seems to a supposed challenge where nominated people have to post five photos which make them happy. There seems to be no purpose other than gaining a few 'awww hun' comments.

I'd like to respond by saying this photo makes me happy!

My friend recently tagged me to do one, I think it's safe to say I won't be doing it

Saw the photo thing the other day too. I've deactivated my account for a while again so it'll die down by the time I reactivate it.

Just seen a brilliant one on my newsfeed just now (thankfully not from one of my actual friends, but one of them did like the status in question!).

A girl posts a link to this Buzzfeed-style 'news' website called Stunning News about the apparent discovery of mermaids on Hawaiian and Egyptian beaches (here's the link: http://www.stunning-news.com/dead-mermaid-found-beach/ ), and then posts this as her status:

"How people don't believe in mermaids is beyond me! 1. 95% of the ocean is undiscovered and 2. Pictures and videos pop up a lot that look way to realistic to be fake"

Ridiculous, right? Though what made it even more brilliant was the first comment below her status:

"People don't believe in them mainly because of common sense and not reading fake news articles. If an as-yet-undiscovered species like a mermaid was found, d'ya think it'd be on 'stunning-news.com' or BBC/Sky news?"

Someone local (who I have a few mutual friends with, for some reason) just got jailed for raping an elderly woman at her home. I've just went on to have a glance at his profile and there's literally hundreds of people (i'm assuming who were his friends) commenting telling him to burn in hell and saying "hope u get raped in jail u ****ing ****", "can't believe u would do something like that you sick ****ing rat", "always knew you were a ****ing weirdo, you make me sick, disgusting" type comments etc.

Now, I am in NO WAY defending this guy but it makes me a bit uncomfortable seeing all these people with such foul and horrible language. Half of them are teenagers and have wrote huge essays on his profile about how much he's a scumbag and stuff. A small cynical part of me also thinks that half of these people are just writing posts publically so that they can get "liked" and told "well said babes, I agree 100%" etc which is happening with all of them.

I've seen a few variations of this, including one that "dares you" to post the five pictures. Not to be pedantic, but can that really be considered a daring task? What's the dare, showing people you like your friends?
