A FB friend of mine went to their friends funeral the other day, cue lots of RIP posts and lots of 'awww so sad' comments followed by a photo album of the event. Hmm I remember when a funeral was a funeral and not an event you took your camera to, you know because you were too busy grieving instead of snapping photos.

If I'm being honest, I have no shame.

One of my colleague's is a serial poster. She gives updates at least 3 times a day, it is massively infuriating. I 'unfollowed' her but posts still appear, I can only assume it's cos she's my only friend that posts so frequently!! At the moment it's frequent updates about her running (a new hobby from the new year), including one of her crying after a difficult run in the rain. She's actually a nice girl but her fb posts make me dislike her in real life!!!

Well I'm taking her word for it, don't want that image etched into my brain cells.

I hate the "You won't believe what he/she does/happens next" type posts where they want you to click on the video. I don't bother as 9/10 times its nothing exciting anyway. Another one that I hate is the 'type in a letter or number in the comments and something magical will happen to the picture' posts.

Either tell me in advance what happens or else I won't bother with it.

I had to stop following someone who was posting up to 50 - yes 50! - things a day. Usually photos with captions about being a strong woman and not needing a man, etc etc

It would have never occurred to me to take my camera (well, I had my phone with me; but it was off) with me to a funeral to take photos. We had some photos taken of family after the funeral and that was it.

Someone on my friends list posted that she has baby fever and is thinking of having another baby (she's gay and her child was born through IVF).

A friend of hers replied that she'd had baby fever for years but due to being infertile she couldn't have children.

To which she got the reply. 'I know how it feels to be infertile. I don't have enough money for the IVF right now. It's so hard'.

Genuinely astounded that someone can be so monumentally dim. No love, you've exactly zero idea how it feels to be infertile. You got pregnant on your first try of IVF and have a lovely daughter. You can at any time save up and repeat the process.

I'm not infertile either but am astounded that someone can be THAT stupid.

I'm not infertile; but can't have children for other reasons. (in short, I can pass some horrible medical conditions due to a mix of genetics and the medication I'm on) I'd find it rather insulting if someone posted something like that. Being gay is completely different.

I really detest people who peddle these network marketing scams on Facebook. They seem to have no morals and usually sign up the desperate. People recently made redundant or single Mums for example.

One of my friends was recently signed up to sell health sprays. After weeks of trying to sell these sprays at 30 quid a pop and sign up others to do the same. I think it is slowly dawning on her that she has just thrown a couple hundred quid down the drain.

I'll tell you in advance - nothing happens. Because it's a picture.

Yeah, it dawned on me eventually. I've tried with various direct sales over the years and none of them have come to anything. Don't fall for the spiel that "the products just sell themselves". In my experience you do need to have some skill as a salesperson, have loads of friends to sell to and a bit of luck and you may do okay, but it's very rare you come across people who have made a good living out of it. In my experience and the experiences of friends, it's basically just a mug's game. I won't have anything to do with direct sales now. I'm sure I'll be jumped on now by several direct sales people who have become millionaires.

A photo album of the funeral tasteless and tacky in the extreme.

I saw photos a few months ago where someone had a party atsomeone's graveside - even had a portable barbecue and everything along with lots of beers for everyone. While I think that people should grieve in whatever way helps them, this seemed a little weird to me. Though, I confess that graveyards weird me out so maybe that is colouring my view?

Exactly. I'm gay myself and would never dream of comparing it to being infertile. I don't want children but if I did there are several ways in which I could have them. Yes they may take a bit of effort but to compare that to someone who wants children but is unable to have them in any way is immensely insensitive and amazingly stupid.

Although I don't know why I was surprised. She also posted a big 'feel sorry for me' rant when the sperm bank she used ran out of the donor she had used sperm. She wanted another child and she wanted them to be full siblings and oh woe is me its so hard and nobody understands etc etc etc.

A Facebook friend was posting last night about how she's had her youngest child taken away from her which much as though it's a horrible thing to happen, I can't help but think that her recent photos of her pole dancing with the baby strapped to her were the best idea to put online...

Everyone might want to delete Facebook! Seems to be a new fad 'motherhood Dare' post a pic of your kid. Yawn 😴 Like people don't do that every day anyway. What a bore.

It should be the mother hood challenge, don't post a pic of your kid for a week and give everyone a bloody break.

Although I had a Facebook clear out a few weeks back. Deleted a load of idiots and put some people I can't delete (because they're family) on ignore. So my feed isn't filled with click bait. Passive aggressive posts about feminism/real men, 73 pics of someone's kid etc. It's been much better!

I have this woman on my Facebook. Her daughter has two kids and she's one of those grandparents who is OBSESSED with their grandchildren. Every post is about them being 'her world' and every day we get several blurry pictures of kids eating chocolate or sitting in a box. Or reposts from a few months back with 'luk ow much she grown!' Etc etc.

Her daughter must have moved back in with her and every week since she is on Facebook ranting and raving about how much of a crap mother her daughter is and she puts everything before those 'gawjuss' kids and she isn't fit to be a mother etc etc etc. She rants that she'll never get to see her grandchildren again because her daughter has banned her from seeing them. Etc etc. Her friends comment how she's an amazing nan and her daughter is lucky to have her etc etc.

Then the next day it's all smiles and blurry pics of the kids like nothing has happened.

She does this at least twice a week. Why in hell would you want to put your dirty laundry all over Facebook like that? It's cringe worthy in the extreme.

I did this and put most people on ignore/hide but for some reason Facebook seems to think these motherhood posts are important enough to show 😡

Does anyone else have those friends who post about everywhere they go? Even if it's just to the local bloody shop?
