I think 'full time mum' is acceptable but 'full time mummy/mommy' is unnecessary twee and often code for someone living a life on child benefits.

I see facebook has moved on from ranting about the referendum and gone on to more important things.

Like the relationship challenge.. or the how many pegs you can peg to your face challenge

I don't know I'm still seeing a few die hard tolerent liberals who keep sharing the same things over and over. Their current favourite is one to get your MP to vote down the result and keep sharing that petition with 'millions' of signatures on despite me giving them proof it's been highjacked!

Most people I know are over it now. I had one family member unfriend me though and a couple of friends.

Most threw their toys out of the pram. Called everyone who voted bigoted Nazis. And once they calmed down a bit posted the same winnie the pooh meme about being friends.

Now people seem intent on sticking as many pegs to their face as some sort of challenge.

Have you seen the cheerios challenge, dads try to stack as many cheerios as they can on their childrens faces. One bloke stacked cheerios on his 4 MINUTE old baby son's face!

People who keep falling for the hoaxes that "Facebook will start charging this summer" (again)

People who think that someone disagreeing with them is "trolling"

I'm seeing the oldie but a goldie:

Quote:
“All your posts can become public tommorow . Even the messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. After all, it does not cost anything for a simple copy and paste
Better safe than sorry is right. Channel 13 News was just talking about this change in Facebook's privacy policy. I do not give Facebook or any entities associated with Facebook permission to use my pictures, information, or posts, both past and future. By this statement, I give notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute).
NOTE: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tactically allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. You MUST copy and paste.”

Even when you tell them it's complete rubbish they still don't believe you!

The media have fuelled that. They have taken the term "trolling" and completely changed the meaning of it. It was such a useful word before as well.

I've seen many people being described as trolls simply because they didn't agree with that persons viewpoint. Even when posting honest open facts they were told to stop trolling! Unsurprisingly they are very much 'generation snowflake' types who don't like being told their opinion is just that (just like my opinion is mine and nobody elses) and their facts are wrong, even when presented with actual evidence.

I was once called a troll for stating I didn't like a popular film.

I went through a cousins posts on FB last night and all he does is whinge, like not being able to talk to his boyfriend for 1 day. Aw, diddums. I wonder (seriously!) how we all managed before mobile phones and social media.

This drives me mad, especially when everyone who does it is old enough to remember when this type of thing was doing the rounds on hotmail over a decade ago. "Hotmail are going to start charging, forward this e-mail to 15 people to get it for free". Idiots.

^ There was also the Hotmail hoax about accounts being deleted unless you forwarded the e-mail to a certain number of people.

And when you tell them it's a hoax you get the 'better to be safe than sorry' reply

My serial attention seeker has just posted that her son collapsed after fitness training & has had to "race to the hospital". Not making light of the situation but I find it remarkable that she stiill found time to post it on FB . Needless to say there is a stream of "OMG Hun" type comments. Why oh why do people do this ?

The serial remaniacs are out again with their anti-tory, anti-Brexit and pro Corbyn status updates again. They seem to have gotten it into their thick little heads that all European immigrants who are legally here will be deported, 'gays' will be banished and all benefits will be stopped. Oh, and the NHS will be sold by teatime, ignoring that their precious EU plans to do that via TTIP (which they always ignore!)

This is one of the many similar posts that have popped up this afternoon:

Quote:
“Maybe my last post was a little heavy handed. Basically we're ****ed with May in charge. Can't wait for her to cut benefits, cut social housing and **** all the working class, all while lowering the value of the pound by leaving the EU. Thanks Brexit, you 'took control of your country' and gave it to an ultra Tory who's against gay rights, migrants and poor people. Who you gonna blame now when we're ****ed and you can't blame 'the immigrants'?”

I have a few who are on a diet ... a couple for nearly a year..... they seem to lose 5lbs a week. So when I see a photo of them why are they still big? I cannot see any difference.

They should just be a skeleton if the weightloss they say is true

Last year there was somebody constantly talking about their diet and exercise but complaining they could never loose weight or keep it off.

I don't think they could grasp that eating a salad for lunch while stealing other people's chips and then going to Greggs on the way home to spend the night eating biscuits (after another healthy salad for tea) was a good idea

I'm no male model by a long shot (very long) so can't take the Mick I should add.

Loads of people moaning about the weather saying it's too hot. Then in winter they moan about how cold it is. Get a grip and enjoy it!

You know, I got so fed up with all the guff I had to endure any time I logged on the Facebook account so much so that I deceded enough is enough, time to delete account. So what I did was not just to close my account with the 14 day cool off period, I went ahead and deleted friends one by one by de friending and cleared out my activity log, it took some time to do so. This was 2 weeks ago and I find I am now a very much happier and friendless person who is enjoying life once more not giving a shit about what other people say and do. Oh, and another thing, with no Facebook, there is much much less spammyness on my browsing activity. The account is now fully closed/deleted

Aint life wonderfull

I've been called a troll for mildly criticising BBC news and current affairs output even on here. My praise for BBC drama and comedy outputs cut no ice with these people.

I have completely given up Facebook and Twitter over the last 18 months. They are a negative force in the world and at catnip for morons. They clutter people's minds with graffiti.

Or they can be genuinely useful tools, it all depends who you're friends are and how you use them. On the whole 95% of my friends are alright and post funny or interesting stuff.

I find Twitter very useful, I don't ever tweet myself and mainly follow breweries, bands and football newsfeeds. Great for finding out about new beer releases, interesting brewery news, finding out about gigs and ticket pre-sales, stage times and a quick way of getting all the latest footy transfer news.
