As someone in a relationship I am also tempted to boycott!

It's not that I'm not happy for people, I am, but message after message about how wonderful their partner is drives me insane!

We do celebrate valentines day, but not in a big way, we'll probably have a nice dinner and that's about it, I don't see the need to tell the whole of FB about it, and I certainly won't be posting pics with the caption 'Look what I made my man' or 'Lool what my man made me'
(I'm hoping I can con him into cooking LOL)
We do the same but with a takeaway. Its also the anniversary of our first date so does mean a bit more. Even so, we dont "gush" about it to everyone. Im sure no one gives a monkeys!

Exactly, Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that you're happy and all that, but all the 'Oh I love my man so much, look at my wilting twice the normal price flowers!' Drives me nuts

Happy anniversary of your first date though!

My other half and I usually do something in March instead of Feb anyway, as it is very close to his birthday so the attention is more on that. Rebels we are

Now that's just wrong. Valentine's day is for celebrating romantic love, not parental love.

Eurgh!
Parents and children and valentines do not mix!

I did however make a status saying how much I love my best friend of 20+ years rather than one about my partner
He knew I was going to and is absolutely fine about it. He doesn't go on FB much any way so not much point in me declaring my love for him on there...
Cue (jokey) replies about me saying I love my best friend but not saying anything to the man in my life LOL

A new hoax is doing the rounds. Apparently paedophiles are using an app with a talking cat on it to actually groom children. They use the camera to look through the cats "eyes" and then they talk to your child!

Are people really that stupid? I don't understand how they literally just believe anything they read. All it takes is 30 seconds to Google it or take a look at Hoax Slayer or Snopes and you will see it's a load of crap. Why don't people do this before just mindlessly sharing?

Someone on my list shared that, so I put the snopes link on the status and said its rubbish, they still believe it.

Someone on my FB posted that and I responded they should be wary of an app called Facebook that turns usually sane people into gullible pricks

Please tell me you posted that in reply
I was tempted to reply with the actual time. Something like "it's five past three, or reverse cowgirl past blowjobs"

Make it simple for her.. She's probably still struggling with time telling bless her.

Batten down the hatches guys, I'm predicting tomorrow Facebook will be bursting with horribly sappy posts. As a single gal I'm tempted to boycott the internet for a day.
single you say.....

could I just direct your attention to this ->

Doing a countdown to today to try and find a man! "4 days to find a man" "3 days to find a man" Desperate, anyone?

And she's off on the pull in Manchester tomorrow with her other fake-haired and orange mates.

I'm not having much luck with dating sites

As you can tell I decided not to boycott the internet, pretty hard to do when I pretty much live on here (might have just discovered why I'm single )

I saw a photo on my facebook last night, it was the daughter of someone I used to work with who I think is about 4/5. She was at her aunt's house and they were making gingerbread men, very sweet. But in the picture there was an ash tray with a recently stubbed out cigarette. I'm not going to get on my high horse about smoking around children but surely you wouldn't smoke in the kitchen while you're baking? I'm picturing smoky ashy gingerbread men, ew .

How do you know it was recently stubbed out? Anyhoo, as a recent ex-smoker I definitely smoked in the kitchen while preparing food and none of it ever tasted like fags or ash.

Maybe I'm wrong, it just looked recently stubbed out [insert shrugging smiley]. I'm not one of these militant anti smokers but I hate the smell of it around my food. I have had at least one meal in the past that tasted quite fag like at a friends house so I'm a bit wary, maybe they accidentally flicked the ashes in the food

My news feed isn't so bad today but there's alot of couples posting "Happy valentines day babe love you so much x" on eachothers walls. I'm sure they've already told eachother this in person or by text so why post it publically as well for everyone to see? Ahh, yes, to get "likes" and be told "you guys are so cute lol".
