As brilliant as Stephen's fundraising efforts were, I did fear that he would become the new Facebook bandwagon case, this year's Lee Rigby ('To sweat angles takn 2 son. Rest in pies xxx'*), for people who don't necessarily understand the story but just want to seen as 'SHOWIN MA RESPEKT!'.

To be fair a lot of people HAD done it weeks before his death but I put that down to raising awareness about him and his story.

Some girl just posted a picture of herself from last night (full of make up and about to go to a club) with the caption "Last night x". She got about 15 Likes and yet one of my close friends posted a nice encounter he had with a homeless person and it got totally ignored.

Ugh.

Why have Facebook split the news feed and recent posts in to two separate feeds? I now have to trawl through a menu to find recent posts instead of pressing a button on the main page. This is on Facebook mobile for iphone.

One of my fb friends has recently taken to selfies, hashtagging (does that even work with FB) bragging ALOT, cue selfies of her at the Apple store buying the new iPad, selfies of her doing her food shopping, photos of her shoes with the caption "Cant decide which shoes to take to New York, so i'm leaving it to the public vote, Prada or Gucci.

With loads of hashtags after like #selfie #nyc #apple #followme

She's a really lovely lady and i know people use facebook to brag about things which I get, but it's very excessive recently and I don't get the hashtag thing unless i'm wrong and it doesn work on Facebook now? I thought it was only Twitter.

Someone on my facebook (who complains about her health a lot, yes one of those) has just been complaining that she can't get a doctors appointment for 2 weeks, someone suggested she go to a walk in centre and her response is "I don't want to waste anyone's time but fed up of feeling like this". She does have genuine health problems but the complaining is getting too much, especially when she won't help herself.

Hashtagging was introduced Facebook a few months ago, not that I understand the point of it.

This girl uploaded a new hair one. Her hair looks pretty much the exact same now.

Sort of connected. I have an fb friend who is always trying to scrounge things. In the past week;

1. can someone please take me to the launderette and maybe pick me up after? i can fit all my clothes in one load please!!

2. Is there anyone who will allow me to use their washer and dryer today for one time? I would really appreciate it

3. Wish I had one of those floppy hats today, my head and forehead got a little burnt. If anyone has a spare I could have could you inbox me please.

4. Does anyone have any dresses or handbags they no longer need? I can't afford to buy any and I only have a few clothes that are too hot for me to wear now.

Someone uploaded a picture of a planes economy class during the 1960s to make a point of how much room they had and how luxurious it was compared to now.

The only problem is if it is real, which im dubious about purely for the size of it, is that all the men are dressed in suits and smart shoes, and all the women wore dresses and had their hair and make up done.

So i very much doubt it can be compared to todays economy class seeing how none of the people in the picture look to be working class!

But people are commenting like mad about how nowdays working class people have to cram into small planes, with no leg room etc but you cant compare the two!

It's the same with snow. I often wonder how anyone knew it was snowing before Facebook came along, I guess they just looked out of the window.

^ It's funny that the first few times I saw on my news feed all that 'Wats up hun?', 'Dnt wanna tlk about it', 'Ill inbox u' etc stuff, I presumed it was just my one 'friend' and her gang who wrote things like that, when seeing the same phrases featured many times in this thread has revealed it to be a widespread Facebook pandemic! I wonder which bugger is ultimately responsible for spreading that about!

So this picture has been doing the rounds on my news feed today.

Am I the only one who thinks it comes across as very patronising and smug? Why can't people do nice things without having to post it online for everyone to comment on? Some of the comments are sickening with many people calling him an inspiration and a hero! I guess he would also be the type of person to feed the homeless and then make a video about it, too.

Of course, if you say "why not just do the deed without putting it on Facebook?" you get the usual idiots giving you abuse such as "he's trying to show people how to be a better person". LOL.

A girl, 23 yeas old has broken up with a boyfriend of.....14 days. She's posted three statuses about being heartbroken.

The general setup of FB attracts this sort of thing.
The idea is to share things with your friends unfortunately it means sharing bad things as well as good things and so anyone who's a bit if an attention seeker anyway is going to be in their element.

It's so easy to post something vague and have loads of friends instantly asking what's wrong. It must be an attention seekers dream come true.

I think most of the time they just want people to know they're sad or annoyed but then probably realise that posting any more detail is not a good idea as everyone will see. Of course that's the total opposite of them posting the vague thing in the first place when the intention was to make sure everyone could see.

But yes, it's very annoying.

A town nearby had a huge fire yesterday, and one shop was completely burned down, along with several residential flats, a car and a few other shops suffered serious damage. Due to the dry weather amd heavy winds a lot of the town was evacuated as firefighters struggled to put the blaze out and stop it spreading. The town have set up an emergency shelter for anyone evacuated or left homeless because of it, so its serious stuff.

One of my facebook friends who lives there hasnt stopped whinging and whining because her photos of the fire were used on several local news sites without her permission!

Fgs some people have lost everything they own and all she can think about is how she wasnt credited for taking the photos! If she was that bothered she shouldve kept her facebook private so nobody could steal them. Eventually she was credited but she still keeps banging on about how it was unfair that her pictures were used without crediting her for twenty whole minutes!

If you use the general rule of thumb of "time to get over a relationship equals one month per year together", then she'll have gotten over it in 1 day, 4 hours
