I saw a funny one earlier (and I'm ashamed to say, I couldn't wait to tell everyone in this thread all about it!) Unfortunately it's already been removed, but the status went along the lines of:

Hi guys, just wanted you all to know that *boyfriend* and I have split up. We're being adult about it and will remain good friends, we've just come to the conclusion that we don't work well a couple anymore.

Nice enough right? Well the former boyfriend then replied with something similarly nice, and said that he would be popping around their house in a while to collect some things, if that was okay. She says that she won't be home, but to feel free.

An hour later, she replies again, this time calling him everyname under the sun, because she got home and he took the tv and other expensives. I'd like to know what happened next, but alas, it's not there anymore.

Funny as that is, why would you communicate to each other about the minutiae of your breakup via FB? If you're making arrangements to move out, surely text is a better option rather than on FB where everyone else can see?

I have a friend who recently announced on FB that her husband had asked her for a divorce. Cue 500 posts asking why, offering love and kisses etc. Then he posts and says 'tell them the full story and they'll understand' cue a succession of 'why can't you guys just work it out' posts.
The following morning, both of their profiles are deactivated then, a few days later, they're both back and announcing things are better than ever, they're more in love than ever etc etc etc.

These are grandparents approaching 50 btw and not daft young kids

This is brilliant, just need to choose whether I want to stop cancer, child abuse or violence now and can then choose a suitable picture.

There's a bloke on my fb, lives in a lovely house, has a good job, nice car, teenage son who is a straight A student and actually a really nice bloke. His wife is a friend of mine and they are a really nice little family.

However he is obsessed with his 2 cats. 99% of his status's involve his cats and he is constantly posting pics of them. Today alone he has posted TWENTY THREE photos of his cats. I swear every time I go on fb all I see is his bloody cats! He refers to himself as 'dad' to his cats (eg pic captions saying 'sitting on dad's knee, can I have some food please dad?' etc) There's nothing wrong with loving your animals, I post the occasional pic of my dog, but he is beyond obsessed and it's just weird. 23 pics in one day... I just dread to think what will happen if/when they die.

I read idiot posts about cats, other silly posts like "feeling angry " and nothing else. .......
and the worst...

My lovely great great great grandad who passed ( passed?passed what? -water?- passed his horse riding test? -what?) in 1905.He would have been 158 this year xxxxxxx (blessed with stupid little pictures of bows and kisses etc)

I also quite like the local council house swaps site. Its full of people who want to swap their 2 bed dingy flat in the rough part of town for a 4 bed semi because they have 2 kids who dont want to share a room and they want a spare for guests then they get all arsey when nobody wants to swap with them.

Once in a blue moon you get someone whos posting on behalf of an elderly relative asking to swap their 3 bed house for a 1 bed bungalow or ground floor flat for mobility reasons. Cue 800 people wanting to swap their 20th floor 1 bed flat because they want a big house.

Then an argument ensues because the poster of the large house has a lot to chose from so wont consider all the time wasters who get infuriated.

They're amazing aren't they. Someone on my local one is selling a well played with Barbie for £25. I saw someone try to sell a second hand sofa for £700, and somebody else trying to flog Garth Brooks tickets for more than face value a few hours after the gigs were cancelled!

That's flippin' good news. Not wishing to blow my own trumpet but I've been saving a fair few lives recently by 'liking' photos of cancer sufferers so it's good to hear I can do even more good by changing my profile pic.

The funniest ive seen was someone offering their working fridge freezer for free because they were getting a new smaller one. They said its free but buyer must collect.

There were so many people asking if they could have it and if the owners would deliver it! One even asked if the owners would pay for a van to deliver it!

Some people just take the pee dont they! Not enough that its free but they want it delivered and no doubt set up for free too.

I'm a member of a hobby that is considered to be a middle aged lady type. There was a post yesterday that was from a woman who writes books about this hobby. She wanted us to buy a copy of her book at full price (club together if we needed to) to send to Africa so the ladies out there could learn to do this. She was called on it...
