For a change, someone in the DS Gaming section has written a rather good article about the changes to the new dashboard.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/n...interface.html

I like the idea of being able to "snap" a program to the side of the screen while still playing a game. I can see that being handy for example your waiting for your TV show or sporting event to start and instead of switching between your game and the TV, you can have the TV channel at the side of the screen to keep an eye on it.

I assume the Sky app will be included with the X1 so it should hopefully work with this feature.

The new dashboard also looks a lot cleaner and easier to get straight to your content.

Expected it would look like that so am not at all surprised that I absolutely hate it

I have never hated any Ui look as much as I do the Windows 8 style tile look.
I never really liked the current 360 metro dash either, Or the redesigned Playstation store which uses a kinda similar tabs look.

I like my Ui's to be clean & uncluttered, Its why I really like the XMB layout on the PS3 & why im dissapointed Sony are moving away from that on the PS4.

Shame that all Ui's on modern tech are going the ugly, cluttered, box type design, Seriously loathe it to the point where I've not brought things that use that kind of design, sometimes in favour of things with better looking Ui's which may be less powerful.

It's better than the 360 dash, marginally. I'm still living in hope for a download for the blades.

I want my xbox to be a xbox not some interactive TV/PC screen.

Definitely agree with you guys. I don't see why anyone would want their high end console, or Pc for that matter, to look more like an out-dated, obsolete, blocky, mobile phone OS.
The 360 definitely lost functionality in last big 'update'. I'm stall calling it a downgrade. (It used to be able to stream stuff from my PC, now certain file types just don't work anymore)

Is there actually a point as to why we have to have these updates now when the X1 is out soon.

Personally I wish we still had this one

Much preferred it until MS ruined it with all these updates. My xbox is a console not a bloody phone ap.
