I would love Barry Grant to pop up on EE to show those bad lads how it is really done.

One thing that puzzled me, was the introduction of Jack Michaelson (odd thing to say in this thread but no other relevant Brookside threads) like six weeks before Brookside ended. Why would a guy move into a house which was set to be demolished or something?

The houses were not going to be demolished just yet as they needed to evict all the members of the street. At the time Jimmy was adamant he was not going to move until his daughter said he would be the only man on the close and would be very lonely as it was no way to live. The Murray's only really decided to go after Michaelson came along.

It was the perfect place for him as it was secluded. Tighter than Faux Knox and his neighbors were weak nobodies in his eyes.

We still don't know who killed him do we, we can presume it was gangsters or Jimmy and the crew who decided they had enough.

It was a shame Barry Grant was too busy tracking down his brothers killers to sort him out despite their small standoff.

They didn't care about logic by that stage in Brookside. They just had to get 'Jack Michaelson' in somehow so they could have a dig at the Channel 4 guy who they believed killed the show.

Channel 4's chief executive at the time was called Michael Jackson. He was the one who pulled the plug on Brookside and it's been said that the show decided to name the drug dealer who was lynched in the last episode after him as a final dig at C4. His name was Jack Michaelson, a play on Michael Jackson.

No way really! Was there a consequence to this?

You can actually go to Brookside Close. It's in West Derby in Liverpool and I made a point of going to take a look when I was in the Liverpool last month. You have to be sensitive though as it's a real residential area.

It was so surreal. Looking at the scene of so many stories and drama was quite something.

I to was in Liverpool last month and found out I was only 45 minutes away from the close! I google mapped it and it looked okish but almost eerie. Would you honestly live there though people?

To be honest I wouldn't object but I'd be very interested to know the house prices.

The houses have hardly changed and are recognisably those we know from the soap's days. That made it so eerie.

I'd have liked to stay longer and take a picture or two but you're standing outside people's homes in a cul-de-sac and your motives are obvious.

It's in fact a series of cul-de-sacs and the Close we know is the last one. There stands the remains of a security hut before "the" close asking you to respect people's property but by no means are you prevented from passing along the public highway.

So people really live there? I thought the houses were derelict?

There not derelict anymore. I was there just four weeks ago. Wheelie bins on the driveways - the whole works.

I am shocked Dean Sullivan doesn't live there, so Brookside couldn't come back as planned then? Didn't Dean Sullivan try to buy the estate to bring it back?
