I know there's a few threads like this, but since bumping old threads seems to be sooo popular

Just finished Episode 4 of Season 1 and it's certainly growing on me a lot. Did like Walter blowing up the "KEN WINS" car at the end

Since there's bugger all else happening today, I think I may well knock off the rest of Season 1 this afternoon !

Congrats on finding the show!

I'm re watching fom series one (now on series two, episode three) & the development of the characters & plot lines is outstanding - especially when you know what's going to happen

Happy viewing

Also rewatching with 2 others that have never seen it. We're on S02E01. I forgot how every single episode seems to top the previous episode. S01E06 and 7 really are the episodes that made me fall in love with the show and from there on I couldn't get enough!

Congrats on finding the show!
Thanks

I suppose i'm lucky in a sense because I actually don't know what goes on. I've got the broad strokes, but those are generally based the covers of the DVD boxsets, the posters and other random things i've heard but that's it.

I'm just hoping that when it finishes, I can avoid any major spoilers - I often look in the US TV section so you can bet your last pound that we'll have a headline story along the lines of "Bryan Cranston: Why Walter Had To Die"

If he does die, obviously

Maybe i'll be lucky and catch all the way up before Season 5 finishes !

Yes, avoid spoilers at all costs, you won't be disappointed! It's a hell of a ride!

I've up to date S5 and I'm still going

Season 1 is done

I want more already !!!!. The way I figure it, epguides.com has episode 16 of Season 5 scheduled to air on the 29th of September. That gives me 34 days to watch 53 episodes, if i want to catch all the way up in time for the final episode on the 29th. Although I'm babysitting my nephews for 3 days during that time when I won't get a chance to watch anything, so technically that's 31 days to watch 53 episodes.

Minimum 1 a day, starting tomorrow.

I reckon I can do that

you all most say that as though it's a bad medicine you will be taking....... when in fact it is double chocolate ice cream with sprinkles on top

Mmmm...sprinkles

I'm looking forward to it, especially if the end of Season 1 is anything to go by.

It reminds me of when I first discovered CSI many years ago. Through the 'magic' of DVD Rental free trials, I was watching around 4 or 5 episodes a day for many months to catch up on all 3 franchises.

It should be easier after the 5th of September as i'll have my 2TB Sky box installed so I can just let everything record and watch nothing but Breaking Bad all the time

Season 2 isn't to everyone's taste, but I loved it, especially...

I found the complete seaon1-3 box set in hmv for 12 so took a gamble and got it. Am waiting until dexter finishes, and then get stuck in.

When it has finished I'll no doubt be going back and watching at least season one again. I must have seen each episode at least three times, but stepping back and seeing the timid, unsure, hirsute Walt again is always fun. Can't wait till he heads out in the back of Hank's car to see the meth lab bust and Jesse falling from the bedroom window. Ah, such innocent times.

I've watched up to episode 6 of season 1 and I've got a week off work so hoping to catch up over the next few days. It's so good.

I watched them all in about 4/5 days, hooked like a meth head from the first episode.

I wonder if Sky Atlantic will obtain the rights and show it from the start. Has it even been shown in HD on UK TV?

A friend recommended it to me and she said she found it slow to start with but to stick with it.....

Im just not sure

I like it but I dont love it and it hasnt grabbed me right from the beginning

Im in two minds as to whether to stick with it and move on to season 2......

I didn't find the show slow at all when I first watched it. I actually found season 2 to be better than the first TBH.

You'll be stupid to quit at just season 1. Watch season 2 until the end and then you'll see what all the fuss was about. Or 'is' about I should say.

Yeah, definitely don't give up after Season 1. It's so short that I see it as more an introduction to the characters and the premise of the show. If you're still not into it by the end of Season 2 then it's probably not for you.

It honestly didn't grab me straight away either. When I first tried it way back when it premiered, i gave up after two episodes because it just wasn't doing it for me.

But it's worked a whole lot better this time around and while I certainly wasn't hooked from the word go, I certainly think by the end of episode 5, i was being reeled in at a very rapid rate.

I think it's helping knowing roughly the broad strokes of what happens to Walter and Jesse. While I don't know exactly, as I said earlier in the thread, I've seen enough of the posters to have a general idea and it's the thought of seeing how they get to that point that makes me want to dive back in to Season 2.

I don't know if it's to do with the comedy that was alot more prevalent in S1 that puts people off initially. I don't particularly think it's slow. But I do agree there's something slightly 'off' about the first few episodes that just don't grab some straight away.
Even saying that seems like sacrilege when you consider the incredible state the show is in now.

I'd always recommend someone watch the entire 7 episode run of Season 1 before they write it off entirely.
