Several months ago, I bought this tablet from QVC, maily because it was a 9.7", a quad core, had a superior battery life, and would start up instantly. As I had paid £200 for it, and didn't think ~I would get my money's worth out of it - I only wanted it to check emails, social networking sites, shopping websites - I returned it. The other day, on the Currys website, here is the same tablet, with £70 off, at £129.95. Brilliant, I thought, I'll have one. When I went in store, the guy told me they didn't have one in stock, and wouldn't be getting any more in - surprise, surprise! When I checked the website again, it had the higher selling price as lasting up until some time in June. That was erroneous information for a start; I would have seen it at the reduced price last time I was on - granted, approx 20 days ago, but not as far back as june. Obviously, it's only a bargain, if you can actually get hold of one, and no other stores anywhere in the north of england have any. Currys seem to sail very close to the wind, when it comes to their deals; they are also offering, currently, a £50 voucher when you spend more than £100 - which I would have got - to be redeemed when you spend £200 - I want a new tv - but only between sep 12 - 25. You can bet your housekeeping on the probability of the tv I want which, coincidentally has £50 off it, being back up to full price, thus I wouldn't be getting it any cheaper than if I bought it now. It's all mind games, a psychological thing. Too many people believe that, if a store 'reduces' the price of an item, they are getting a good deal. Caveat emptor.
p.s. does anyone know of a tablet, which is quad core and a 9", round about the £130 mark? I would go for an ipad but, as I'm not really into the apps, I think that would be a waste of money.
