I didn't realise the 'countdown to a million' thread was such serious business

It doesn't involved a cane or strap does it?

Thanks for keeping it alive

Edit - is that countdown thread some kind of secret code for a cult or something? Eerie

I suppose they must have some rule to make sure they don't keep counting the same numbers.
I wonder what will happen when they get to 999,999? Who gets to do the magic Million? And whats to stop me jumping in

You're on the right lines to make sure we keep the sequence going and to put the correct number up if it's too late to edit any incorrect numbers to the correct ones hope that clears things up!

Why are most first comments on DS threads some kind of sexist jokes?

Why do people on DS always seem to see sexism, racism, fascism, ageism and any other kind of *ism when there is none?

That's Rule #37, Rule #16 is "If you fail in epic proportions, it may just become a winning failure".

So it is. I just went with the first hit off google and didn't bother to go to the proper rules site.

I think that's pretty ironic given the correct rule 16.

Still never mind, everyone knows rules 1,2 & 34 is the only real ones.

Rule 16(a):
"In the event that a number has been repeated, posted out of sequence or in any way mis-formed, the poster should edit the post to the correct number, as required, after the fact."

Rule 16(b):
"Should the the poster fail to edit the post beyond the alloted forum edit window, any other poster may invoke this rule in order to retrospectively correct the post in order to maintain an accurate procession."

Thanks Lemoncurd! I didn't know that a 16a existed either! I didn't even see those rules at the start of the CTAM thread...

But I knew about the 16b

I'm virtually always editing posts

THREAD CLOSED - WE NOW KNOW WHAT 16B IS. MODS - PLEASE CLOSE THREAD

Sweet. I'm genuinely struggling to imagine what the other 15-plus rules are in a thread where you post a number

Meh, leave them to their counting thread. Trolling it is a fast way to a ban.

To be fair, I just made them up. I'm not sure there is a set of rules. 16(b) was jokingly assigned to an ad-hoc rule the first time some posted a wrong number that they didn't subsequently edit.

You can't be serious surely? No sexism in the phrase 'Bros before Hoes'

You'll be saying there's no racism in the N word next.

That thread has been going for 129 parts - and, it is placed under general chatter, so under chatter it doesn't matter as much whether there is a "topic" or not...

If it is "a fast way to a ban" then why aren't all of the posters that have put a number down banned, and the thread closed?
Exactly - the mods probably couldn't care about the content of the CTAM Thread. If you don't like it - don't participate in the thread!
