Well yeah... which threads were you thinking about?

If it is "a fast way to a ban" then why aren't all of the posters that have put a number down banned, and the thread closed?
Exactly - the mods probably couldn't care about the content of the CTAM Thread. If you don't like it - don't participate in the thread!”

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, it's a game, and I bet most people mocking the counting thread play games of one sort or another.

Yes, it's a game, but it just seems such a terribly dull and pointless one. What is its attraction? Is it the intellectual challenge of adding or subtracting the number one? Does some sort of community spirit (aka clique) develop on such threads?

Yes, I do play games, and I have no wish to see the counting threads banned, but I just don't understand what people get out of them.

Community spirit, I think, a sense of being part of something.

Will I be frowned upon by the regular posters in that thread if I go and post in it?!

I just wanna do one post so I can say I made a valuable contribution towards counting to a million.

It's not really a game, is it? No skill involved, it's not competitive or challenging. I can't even see how it can be fun, to be honest.

Anyone can post at any time. It's not a thread exclusive just a few posters. The more the merrier. It gets a little more difficult when there's 4 or more posting at the same time.

All we ask is edits are done so that it's the right number and no more than 5 in a row by one poster.

It's just a lighthearted thread with a bit of chat, competition (there's always a battle for who gets 666), messing about, joke around, winding each other up sometimes.

It's just a thread in chatter that's been going for over 2 years. As with any thread, anyone can join in at any time. If someone doesn't like it, so what, it's not harming anyone.

What about "Why are so many famous people fat?"

It's not really a Count To A Million Thread if it's lots of different threads. That makes the whole thing even more pointless.

This is exactly why I joined the CTAM thread back in page 126.

And that's the reason why 16b is used - if edits need to be done but are only spotted outside of the DS allotted time for editing.
