Any supermarket that doesn't supply bags is not worthy of attention.
They do supply bags, fool. They even sell incredibly sturdy foil-lined bags for £50p that keep frozen food frozen. I don't see those in Tesco.

Let's use our respective IQs and contemplate how a bag of Allinson's bakers flour in Tesco is £1.72 and the carrier bag is 'free'. Meanwhile, in Aldi, flour that's almost as good is 75p and you need to pay 3p for a carrier bag that will carry it.

Or, you could bring your own bag like virtually everyone in the queue I see does.

You'd prefer to shop in Tesco (or wherever), and I understand how you think.

Not seen those before, are they veggie?
No they're beef and jalapeño, sorry I should have put that. Very tasty though.

Well that's your opinion, but personally I'd rather save money and use my bags for life than spend more and have plastic bags everywhere.

In fact I use a little old lady shopping trolley for convenience but that's just me (it's red and spotty so not a proper old lady tartan one )

The specially selected yogurts are very nice, I tried the hazelnut one the other day and was full of flavour and thick. No wonder they seem to sell out in our local Aldi, the trays are usually stripped bare - but then again we're in middle class yummy mummy territory.

I never seen that one, maybe look for it in future. Have found Morrisons top range bacon to be very nice. Thanks
I think the applewood smoked bacon is in the black 'specially selected' range and yes its pretty good.

Their specially selected sausages are not the cheapest and they come 6 to a pack but they are about as good as anywhere else I have found in supermarkets as well. Also their specially select beef mince as well.

I usually wait till its on offer (usually every couple of months) and bulk buy then freeze.

You know what I was just thinking the other day how good the red grapes are this week. They're always good from aldi but this week I seem to have got the best ones.

Love Aldi for fruit and Veg, my only issue is with Peppers, had a few bad ones from there, so rather than buying 2 packets to do me the week, I only buy one packet and pick up another during a mini shop in Asda since the price isn't much different.

Other than that though, no complaints.

Baked goods not as good as lidl, nor is chocolate imo but sweets, biscuits, fish (particularly hot smoked salmon), cooked meat and trifles are great imo.

What's the price difference these days.
Last time I looked ALDI 'traffic light' peppers were 69p and ASDA was £1.69

I was given an Aldi Choceur bunny as a thank you gift by a friend the other day - it was absolutely delicious!

I have tried Aldi in the past - yes it is cheap for some things, but I fail to notice a difference on other items. I also very much dislike the rushing through the checkouts nonsense. If you are giving a company your money, they should treat you with a little more respect.
I normally alternate between asda and morrisons. Today I went to morrisons and was impressed. They had a lot more offers than they normally do - it reminded me of when they used to do loads of buy one get one frees. Everywhere you looked there was some promotion or another. My shopping came in cheaper than it has for a while.

As an example :

Strawberries were 99p
Broccoli 49p
3 pack peppers 99p

With these prices and the overall shopping experience, I was happy

The problem with comparing Aldi prices to somewhere that's got something on offer is that the offer will end whereas Aldi prices will stay consistently low.

Personally I don't mind the rush at the checkout, it makes the queues shrink faster for one. Plus it means I can take my time packing things in the right order in the packing area so things don't get squished or broken without holding up the queue behind me. I always felt so under pressure to pack at some kind of olympic pace at Tesco so not to hold everyone up. I get really annoyed when I see someone a head of me with a trolley packing at the til.
But each to their own.

I had some of the aldi mozzarella sticks this weekend, they were very tasty, though they explode if you over cook them

2.2 ltr ?

Apart from the occasional 1 pint carton, I thought they had switched to litres 15+ years ago.
Maybe it varies by region and actual milk supplier?
Most supermarkets sell 4 pints / 2.2 litres for £1 to £1.50. You have to watch for those selling 2 litres.

Agreed, Aldi's yogurts are amazing for the money. I would also like to give a special mention to their chocolate buttons as well. They taste amazing, I actually prefer them to Cadbury's!

I tried their strong wholemeal flour, and it's as good as their white. However, it costs 99p rather than 75p, and as Allinson's is currently on special offer for £1.27 in Asda, I think I'll stock up on a few of those. There are more lumpy bits in the flour, whereas Aldi's is finer.

Allinson's also has a more intense 'brown bread' taste, whereas Aldi's tastes like Allinson's with a bit of white mixed in.

If I run out of Allinson's and it's not on special offer at the time, I'll certainly buy Aldi's again to save myself 50p per bag.

I've shopped at Aldi for a while and since Christmas it has been busy as hell in there. I use two different Aldi's that are local to me and they are packed now. I've also noticed the cars in the carpark appear alot posher than before and rather than the people queing with a few items they are doing a full shop. All the tills are open now and whilst you are not getting the sometimes inane chatter on a Tesco till you get the service and prices. I had to go to a Tesco recently due to the floods and I hated it. Couldn't believe Tesco charging £2.50 for 3 peppers when Aldi charge a pound!! I was in a foul mood and my fridge and cupboards looked a lot emptier than after an Adli trip

Try the Basa fish fillets in a tempura batter. Delicious, and about £1 cheaper than a similiar item from Sainsbury's. We love them..

Tesco make all their money on turkey twizzlers and sometimes horse meat pie.

Veg prices at Tesco are just crazy. No wonder they throw much of it away.

I know a few people who will not touch aldi, mainly because they don't think their food is to the quality and that a lot of it is not British.

Well some of their stuff is ok, you can't do quality at that price.
