Tell me, was it worth the wait? Is not only your water but also your life enhanced?
I don't think I'll now ever know what flavoured water tastes like. |

OK this is not for the tech minded amongst you.
I bought one of their bluetooth speakers ( brand name Altius) for £10 last week and I'm really pleased with it. I've been looking for a DAB radio for the kitchen but not wanting to spend too much as reception isn't great and it's only for background noise really. I don't like taking laptop etc into kitchen when I'm cooking because of space and steam concerns. Anyway, this speaker has reasonable sound, covers up to 10 metres and is really easy to set up so now I not only have DAB but full internet radio which I can take into the kitchen, bathroom, garden or wherever and I don't have to worry if I drop it as it was so cheap. Oh, and it's rechargable so no battery costs and, for those who can be bothered to keep receipts, a 3 year guarantee. |

We have two Aldi stores opening near here... one 5 miles away and one about 9 so I will be spoilt for choice. I really like Aldi and Their newer stores are clean and bright and they seem to train their staff well because they're always helpful and polite.

Not food and drink, but I just happened to have a sniff of their Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel when I was last in there and made an impulse purchase when I became instantly addicted to the smell of it. I don't know if It would actually be safe to use it and go out in public smelling like that because there could be a danger of being eaten. I just wish they'd make a room freshener with the same smell.

My partner is quite selective about sweetened soya milk, and usually will only go for Alpro original. However, we tried the Aldi sweetened soya milk, and she likes that one just as much.
I'm sure I've posted about the Vine Tomato and Lentil fresh soup, but I'll mention it again just in case as IMHO it is absolutely delicious. I was disappointed that the five blade Aldi razors came and went very quickly. I've tried the three blade razor that they still sell, and have been pleasantly surprised. I think that the five blade is better, but the three blade is quite usable, and much cheaper than the branded alternatives. We really like the 'specially selected' plum chutney, I think it's 'plowman's'. EDIT: Whoops! I posted about the soya milk in July, but forgot that I did. Apologies. |

Not so much bad but certainly irritating is the way they mix up products in the same box. We had to help a lady dismantle their display to get some non-bio wash from the other day. We could see it but it was right at the back and under a half emptied box. I have to do the same to get the right flavour cat biscuits which they display on the top shelf. 🙅

I'm not keen on any heavy scents or smellies but I have used this. It's cheap, it feels nice and you smell like a pear drop for a couple of hours.

The bio power in the green box is good, have always bought branded washing power on special offer I decided to give it a go and managed to shift some stains from my shirts. |

I have never understood why they do this either, given that it must take additional labour and cost when the items roll off the production line in the factory to do them in mixed boxes, rather than all the same.

They do the same thing with their flavoured mineral water and Tonic. The number of times I've had to rejig things and even remove trays just to get to the Diet Tonic or the Elderflower flavoured water is a joke!

Well, you can make a pear drop last an awfully long time. Are you man enough?
![]() I had to turf three boxes out of the shelves before finding my fruity delight. It must play hell with stock control, because one of the three varieties could be entirely stripped from the shelves, leaving partly full boxes full of stuff that nobody wants. I've often seen people dragging out and sorting through boxes of air freshener refills, which are always on a top shelf. p.s. I came across their 'water enhancer' for the first time over the weekend. It appears to be just a concentrated fruit squash at about 100 times the normal price.

1L bottles of tonic water, soda water and whatever the other one is are usually stacked like a game of Kerplunk in my local branch. People claw-out bottles of tonic water from multiple layers and you end up with a massive stack of soda water propped up by just a couple of bottles and the thick plastic trays inbetween layers.
There have been times where I've wanted to get bottles of tonic water but didn't want to risk getting them out from the centre for fear of making the whole stack fall over. And there was no way I was going to shift scores of bottles to get to the ones I wanted and then shift them all back. |

The Carlos frozen pizzas cost 85p & taste equally as nice as pizzas that cost 3x that.

I finally got around to trying Clarke's Bourbon whiskey, as mentioned by a few people on here.
It's lovely stuff. I'm not really a whiskey drinker, and don't like smoky tastes, but this had a very nice balance of smoke and smoothness. I think it would be quite drinkable neat for non-connoisseurs, though I use mixers. It's certainly nicer than Aldi's own-brand Scotch that I've tried in the past, including their 8-year black label. The only 'bad' thing about it is that it's a bit expensive when you consider how often big supermarkets do 1L bottles of Grouse, Whyte or Grant's for £15. But I suppose it's still cheaper than any regular offer you find on Jack Daniels. |

In supermarkets Jim Beam and supermarket own burbons are much cheaper and just as nice. If splashing out then Buffalo Trace or Makers Mark and other brands are better imo. Even in pubs Buffalo Trace is cheaper than JD around here. |

I really like the peperoni stuffed crust pizza, delicious, I've got one for dinner tonight. The frozen garlic flat bread/pizza is delicious as well.

Interesting customer reviews on the Aldi site saying they appear to have been changing the contents of the bottles this month, with the old (and nice) Clarke's being dated 1866 whilst the new (not as nice) stuff being dated 1794.
Typical, if after I finally try this stuff, they slyly replace it with a rubbish version. Aldi comment replies seem to be copy & paste responses. |

They aren't beyond pulling a few dodgy tricks. A while ago I noticed some 500ml bottles of Carino family shampoo in three different types. I didn't like two of them, but the one in the brown bottle was thick and creamy with a very pleasant, quite sophisticated smell.
At that price I thought it would be brilliant value as a shower gel and so it proved, so knowing that Aldi products have a habit of suddenly disappearing from the shelves, on my next visit I bought six bottles of it – just in case. Then when I opened the first one, it was completely different from the first one I bought and so was every single one of the others. It was now much thinner stuff with a cheap and nasty smell. I complained to Aldi online and they offered me a refund, but quite honestly, I couldn't be bothered to lug six bottles back to the store to claim back £2.64. What I've now done is to pour it all into a big jug and mix in some of their Kick Start gel. It is so strong that one bottle can completely infuse the 3-litres of cheap stuff and make it useable. It did occur to me that it might actually a case of Aldi being ripped off by the suppliers of the shampoo, rather than them deliberately downgrading it. |

Salt, pepper and chilli ribs. £2.99 and will serve 2/3. They are delicious reheated for about 20 mins in an oven. The bones come clean out.

BAD: Aldi cornettos. Nothing like the real thing. The wafer cones are soft and chewy rather than hard and crunchy like the brand. Definitely won't be buying those again.

Today I was in Lidl and they're doing 250g jars of 15+ manuka for £4.29. I wonder if it's the same 15+ jars Aldi used to do occasionally for £5? It seems to be a special item, so get it while stocks last.
