I got some too. I was told by someone that it was limited to 2 wagyu products per transaction but there were no signs or anything saying that when I went in and managed to get 4 sirloin, 2 ribeye and 2 of the packs of 2 burgers. Looking forward to giving it all a try.

I had the burgers last week and they were lovely. I think the steaks are for this week only though. I got a couple of ribeyes as it's my favourite steak. If I think it's worth the extra, I'll pop back and get a load more.

I wish I hadn't posted that. It looks as if they've tried to copy the Lidl version, but the Aldi one is totally overloaded with currents. That's okay if you like them but I don't – at least not in those quantities. There's a lot of other dried fruit as well, which must bump up the sugar content enormously.

Just had my wagyu ribeye steak. Oh my god it was lush! Best steak I have in years and such a bargain at £7.29. My partner had his sirloin and we tried a bit of each other's and the sirloin was yummy too. Looking forward to the next one. Don't think they will make it to the freezer as intended 😆

Having the burgers tomorrow as part of a BBQ.

Was in alldi again today, not for steaks but we had a look to see if there were any left. There were 2 left. So wish we had picked them up now.

Not food related but was pretty damned close.

Why ruin the raspberry and vanilla shower gel? It used to have the most glorious fruity scent (strawberries actually, nothing like raspberry) which made your entire body smell good enough to eat (with obvious benefits).

Now somebody has totally messed it up by adding something chemical and nasty, so that it's no longer attractive at all. Why do supermarkets do these things?

Yes, outside of the obvious Christmas, Easter etc fayre, they use that word for stuff brought in for a period of time, then may or may not reappear at some point in the future. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the seasons of the year.

The wagyu are delicious, the gourmet burgers are lovely too. They had some maple and something pork belly slices the other week which were delicious as well.

At the moment I'm pretty much hooked on the aldi chocolate fingers, I can eat a whole pack in one sitting.

Yep. Quite likely next time they have a bread maker on special buy they will get the bread mixes back in too.

Those things are like crack cocaine. It's almost impossible NOT to eat an entire pack in one sitting.

Bad - Kooliburra Sauvignon Blanc. I know it's cheap (about £3.79) but the red wine equivalent isn't at all bad and I thought this would be equally good value. Quite honestly it could be anything, but there isn't even the slightest characteristic of the wine it purports to be. It's a bit like the cheap white wine you used to buy here in the 1980s, described as a blend of wines from different EU countries. Avoid.

Aldi 'fresh' salad bowls. The egg salad I bought yesterday contained so much water that the lettuce and cucumber had turned to a slimy mush when I got it out of the fridge at lunch time today. I'm sure I commented months ago about the amount of water that's left in these things.

Bad - Aldi flat peaches. They needed at least another month on the tree.

Oh gosh surprised to read that. I have had 4 packs during the time they have been in the super 6 and they have been delicious, as have the apricots. Much better than Tesco stone fruit which is as hard as a rock and rots from the inside without ever getting ripe.

It was the first time I'd ever had a peach that was crunchy. I only bought them because I was given one a much better one that had been reduced for quick sale.

Some people are better at choosing ripe fruit and others just pick up the first packet they get to.

We have found the "ripen at home" packs good and yes they do ripen although you have to keep an eye on them or you may find them too ripe.

I went out of my way to pick out the ones which looked the ripest.

Apologies if already mentioned but Aldis Brioche loaves (plain and chocolate) are the best around.

Same goes for there Brioche Burger buns and hotdog rolls

It is strange but I love them crunchy and don't like them when they are soft.

A little bit off topic but I've just made the Cod and Chorizo recipe from Aldis website for dinner and it was absolutely delicious.

I bought their chilled tuna steaks the other week, reduced to £2.80 from £4 and they were absolutely delicious.

I couldn't afford that all the time, but for £2.80 it was a nice treat and I'll certainly pay £4 for them for special occasions.

I had the fried with fresh chips and marrowfat peas.

Tastes totally different from tinned tuna doesn't it.

A lot of Aldi products actually get made by the big Brands like for example I'm convinced their chocolate is made by the same people who make Galaxy.

Good: Clarke's Bourbon.
Just as nice as the supermarket branded bourbon from ASDA, Tesco & Morrisons.
The LIDL one I don't like. You'd think they'd be all similar but the LIDL one has a strange aftertaste for me.

The ALDI one is about £13 so a few pennies cheaper than other own brands and a couple of quid cheaper than Sainsbury's.
I'm happy enough with the quality than paying a lot more for JD/Jim Beam or other branded bourbons (or Tennesee Whiskey)”

Top of the range oven chips, best ever
Chocolate marble brioche
Fresh coffee
Bread
Greek style yoghurt
Avocado's
Wine
Salmon Wellington

Bad
fresh veg, doesn't last 5 minutes
bagged salad leaves, too wet
Red onions, so strong they make you weep like a baby!

Their version of Skips are Skips, I saw online someone opened up a multi pack of Aldi ones and found a packet of Skips in there Some kind of mix up when packing.

The pitta crisps are delicious, they're my mid morning snack at work at the moment.

About the veg, I've found it generally lasts longer than anything I have brought at other supermarkets. Also I love the red onions, the stronger the better, I don't want weak onions

Love shopping in Aldi in Germany and in the UK.
Many great quality products to be had and just as good as the BIG supermarkets, sometimes better!

Have a thing for the no frills, own brand tinned rice pudding at about 13p a tin.
