Hot Beetroot Pickle jar- 99p, lovely in a sandwich, its not "hot" though, just tangy/sweet.
Wholemeal brown bread, very nice. Superior Quality range frozen Battered Haddock-£2.99, massive fillet, crispy batter, decent. |

Strange, i could hardly finish mine, maybe i've mentioned the wrong Haddock product. Pretty sure it was Aldi's top of the range frozen Haddock though. Either that or i got lucky

If you mean the "Specially Selected" extra large fillets in batter for £2.99, they're lovely and definitely larger than the normal frozen fish. They don't like being overcooked though.
And as I posted before, I'm seriously wondering if their 'award winning' gin has been changed to a cheaper one now that they've finished getting a flood of good press coverage earlier in the year. Either my taste buds have suddenly changed or it has. It now smells and tastes very alcoholic and without much in the way of juniper (like the one bottle I ever bought from Lidl). I'd love to know if anyone else has bought it recently and either can't notice any difference or thought the same. Meanwhile, I see they've just started stocking their nice advocaat again. I haven't seen it since between Easter and the summer. |

If anyone cooks with raw prawns I can recommend their specially selected frozen raw or cooked prawns. £1.99 a bag will serve 2, I use them with spaghetti and chilli, really good quality and about half the price of tesco.

My local ALDI is again stocking the 1L Tamova vodka and it's only £13.99.
They usually only get the 1L bottles in for special occasions so I wonder if they'll have it upto and past new year. |

My son is very cross as our local aldi stopped doing the chilli ketchup, and the chilli relishes. Only 69p, and just as good as brand names.
I don't like their lemonade, bread,or their chocolate and cereal (except the weetabix) nor the dog won't eat the dog food. OH won't drink their coffee (Don't drink coffee so no matter to me) Not keen on their margerine spreads, but then I am fussy and only tend to buy stork. Their £1.99 chicken huge pizza's are awesome value, as are their eggs and tinned products. Fresh stuff seems to last longer than other supermarket too, and is cheaper on most things. Their premium washing up liquid is better than fairy. |

I used to think it was better, or at least on par with the own brands from ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco. For a while now i've only been buying the ASDA and Morrisons version so I wonder if I just have a taste for those. It did surprise me though and I did wonder if they'd changed the recipe. |

Bad: Ice cream cones
One of the first things I've not enjoyed from Aldi The ice cream seemed cheap and grainy compared to a cornetto (comparable on price when on offer). Probably won't be buying again, would be interested for feedback from others with regards to their experience... it may have been a batch subject to poor temp. control. |

Aldi have changed their naan. They're now 40g lighter but still 49p for two. They don't taste bad, but the problem is they're now as thin as pitta bread, so they go dry and hard easily. The ond ones were the more traditional thick naans, and tasted better than Lidl.

.. I prefer the higher quality full milk fatty stuff but this is a good, maybe healthier compromise to mix with your own fruit etc. Its on a par with the Sainsburys(soft scoop) and Lidl. Tescos is worse but OK. Farmfoods ice cream. Only tried it once from there but the initial impression was 'inedible'. |

Aldi's rye bread is amazing. Best rye bread I've had in the UK! Usually they're all dry and yucky, but Aldi's is moist and YUM! I need more.

I noticed today that late in December Aldi are going to sell spiral cut ham. I've been looking and looking for this since I got back from the States. First in line for me!
