I think Carol was saying it tongue in cheek. She got absolutely bladdered last night. Carole's got a great sense of humour

Was she not saying the reason to drink is to have a good time not just to get bladdered? She never said dont get bladdered just not to make it the main reason to drink

I think the other night Charlotte said she doesn't really like the taste of alcohol she just likes the effect she drinks to get drunk.

Carol on the other hand enjoys a drink - she gets drunk yes, but ......she does enjoy the drinking - she can be discerning.

That's how I understood it.
