If you're interested in buying the unlocked Nexus 4 directly from Google it's now even better value: 159 for the 8GB and 199 for the 16GB.

Got to admit i'm a little miffed since i bought one less than a month ago, but for anyone that hasn't yet it's a great deal.

Seems that Google offer to refund the difference if you purchased within 15 days of the price reduction (unfortunately i ordered on the 1st so am not eligible). If you did, you can submit your refund request here.

This will make that 'best smartphone under 300' thread a lot more interesting lol. Nexus 5 round the corner and again going to be pitched at an amazing price? Now 330 cheaper than an iPhone 5

Very, very, tempting...

I'm currently in a middle on a 24 month contract with Virgin on a crappy HTC phone but I believe I should be able to get them to provide a replacement micro SIM while remaining on contract.

If they refuse couldn't you cut the existing one to size? Lots of cutters for cheap on ebay. Even with the Nexus 5 clearly being on the horizon and given the 4 isn't 4G compatible (if you are in a decent DC-HSDPA area there's no pressing need for 4G anyway) these new prices are astonishing for the spec you are getting.

You can apply for a refund of the difference according to Google.

You're very welcome I wonder if this price drop has anything to do with the allegedly very imminent 'cheap' iPhone?

Maybe or the new Nexus is imminent and they're clearing the remaining Nexus 4 stock.

My post was in no way serious

Obviously I'm no mod so I'm sure I'll get a kicking for saying this but, for once, I don't suppose we could keep a thread OT and not simply resort to the usual petty arguments?

Yeh sorry, we posted at the same time.

That being said this is the best deal out there right now even beating some 350+ phones in terms of spec.

Only downside is lack of SD card and LTE. But they are hardly downsides
