Why I LOVE Kylie Platt (Paula Lane)
Yeah, so I love Kylie. I mean, she's easily one of the best characters on Corrie at the moment. She's developed, funny, interesting, and pretty damn gorgeous as well. I think it's safe to say that she is, at the moment, one of my absolute favorite characters, most certainly my favorite female.
But, was she always amazing? NO! I'm going to paste a link. Said link will take you straight to a picture of Kylie in her first episode. http://www.corrie.tartydoris.com/_co...ulaLane002.jpg And just LOOK at her. It's hard to believe that the unwashed, greasy looking and ill dressed specimen in this photo is the beautiful, quirky young woman we know and love today. There's just no comparison. At the time we had no idea she'd become what she is today. I'm now going to paste another link. THIS link will take you to a very recent photograph of Kylie. http://www.corrie.tartydoris.com/_co...laLane1089.JPG How GORGEOUS does she look? I mean, she's so sweet and innocent looking! Those wonderful, huge eyes. She just looks like the sort of girl you want to hug! Imagine hugging the girl in the first photograph! You'd probably catch something! But that's what I like. It's great to see how much a character has developed in the three short years she's been here. From the helpless chav waster, to the nasty child selling sociopath, to the Lady Macbeth style wife, and now to the mature, pretty and relatively stable girl we have now. Credit must be given to Nick Tilsley for giving her a job, and improving her attitude and maturity. Obviously we'll take away a bit of that credit due to the fact he then went on to bed her. And I'll tell you what I love. No tan. Unlike a certain Tina Mcintyre, Kylie's skin tone is that lovely natural chicken like color she was born with. Tina has ruined herself. She was beautiful. Now, picture yourself in the deli in Morrisons or Tesco. Go to the counter, and behold the chickens, the rather orange chickens roasting on the spit. That is the tone Michelle Keegan has chosen for herself. However, there was a brief time when I nearly faced Soap Opera heartbreak. One episode, not too long ago, where I feared that Paula had made Tina's mistake. Imagine, please that you are a small, nine year old child again. You wake up on Christmas morning, eager with excitement, as you know that you're getting some seriously wonderful presents this year. Imagine walking down to the Christmas Tree. But your presents are not under the tree. They are out in the garden. And they are on a bonfire. The bonfire is alight, and you can see your presents slowly burning. Imagine how you feel. That's roughly how I felt when I saw the episode this picture is from: http://www.corrie.tartydoris.com/_co...ulaLane643.JPG WHAT was the girl thinking? She was UGLY in this. Downright tacky looking. Luckily, she reverted back to how she should look surprisingly quickly. She obviously saw herself in this episode and felt the same way I did. Now, her dress sense. That's what I adore about Kylie. Her "dubious" dress sense shows off her wonderfully eccentric side perfectly. Observe these photos please. http://www.corrie.tartydoris.com/_co...ulaLane978.JPG http://www.corrie.tartydoris.com/_co...ulaLane900.JPG Anyone else would look like an idiot. But because she's Kylie it adds to her wonderfulness. Imagine Leanne dressing like that. It just wouldn't work. You might as well put Terry Duckworth in them clothes for all the difference it would make. (Apologies if I've caused anyone mental trauma by putting those images in your mind.) Only Kylie could get away with that! Right, well I do have more to say, but I'm going to wrap it up there to cut down the length of this. On a final note, I love her character, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they take her next. From what I hear, she's going to be undergoing some pretty big changes which, although upsetting me, do sound like interesting viewing. I can't wait.

Absolutely loathe her. She now has another child to sell. She'll be rolling in money.

Hated her at the beginning when she had sold Max, looked for even more money, and then demanded him back. Was unfair on Becky.
But she's grown on me 100%. |

compare the first two pictures and in the second one I'd say she's had a bit of cosmetic surgery. Have to agree though the character has grown into a very nice person but can a leopard change its spots I wonder.

I like her too. But if she becomes too popular Corrie will go into Kylie overload and ruin her character.

I also think she's brilliant, much better than her sister Becky ever was!

Didn't see Friday's episode. She hasn't sold the baby yet, has she ? Has she had sex with anyone else who isn't her husband ?

Kylie is great. She is a real coup for Corrie. Hopefully will be a long term character.

Great character, not overused or with an obnoxious 'holier than thou' attitude like a certain tango-faced character. Her development has been great, and also believable and natural. I hope she stays with the program long term.
