I'm hoping any 'Ambassador's Programme' they decide to offer the day one purchasers isn't just sh!tty old virtual console games again, like the previous programme on the 3DS when they cut the price for that.

If the price cut on the 4th October is similar to that of the official US cut then I would much prefer £50 of points as opposed to having to make do with Excite Bike and other 8-bit delights, but I doubt very much this will be an option.

It seems as though those who become early adopters are shafted continuously.

I think I'd be silly to buy another Nintendo hardware system again, if they actually make one which isn't of the handheld variety. Nostalgia won the day though and it's a bit of a shame I let it.

That is part and parcel of being an early adopter.

You pay the higher price.
You run the risk of potential hardware issues.
You might be faced with a useless piece of tech 2 months down the line.

But you get the latest and greatest before anyone else.

I don't think they need another Ambassador programme.

.

Not exactly true. The PS3 had an RRP of £425. You can now pick up a PS3 for around the £140 mark. Doesn't mean you were shafted - it means manufacturing becomes cheaper.

Luckily I got it on eBay before the new year. The deluxe edition including Nintendo land for about£230.

I can only find the same bundle in tesco for £270. So looks like I till saved money. But please tell me if I'm wrong.

I bought the 3DS just after launch for €250 (I was in the Netherlands at the time). I was destroyed by the price drop. And it had already suffered damage from my family before the price drop was in effect, such a shame.
