If Dermot got the sack who would you like to see replace him?
A fellow male presenter?
A female?
A new duo?
Someone from another country?
Should it automatically go to Caroline Flack?

Discuss

I for one am getting a little bored of Dermot, I loved him in the early days but for the past few years he comes across incredibly smug.

Maybe someone like Tess and Vernon might be quite good (it will be funny to watch the BBC panic for a lil)

I think a Female would be welcome again maybe someone like Ferne Cotton..Or Lisa Snowden/ Cat Deeley could be quite good as well...

I'd like to see Emma William do it tbh. I find her very warm and she is a great presenter!

I agree about Emma Willis - one of my favourite presenters at the moment!

Replace him with Kate Thornton.
That would be going a step backwards. There's a reason why Dermot has lasted 6 series (on his seventh).

Uggg good no. Her gurning and utter embarrassment of presenting did me in on her stint. She also has no expression and when she was trying empathy it often came out as a grimace. She could never make the show exciting enough, it would be like watching a Madame Toussaud's wax work.

I'd love to see Emma Willis do it! Loved her on Bit On The Side, then she showed how she can handle a big live show when she got the main show job!

I would welcome her, but I personally have no problem with Dermot

Don't like Dermot doing the X Factor.......he was much more himself when he used to do BB Little Brother and continues to bemore like himself on the Xtra Factor when he appears after the main show........Mr Saturday Night he is not ,reading autocues and ending up being shouty and squeaky trying to whip up excitement by saying the same thing week after week......doesn't suit him IMO and they would freshen the show up by replacing him.

I couldn't think of any other men, or even imagine any other man other than Dermot hosting it,

If someday he leaves / gets replaced and a woman was to step into his shoes I'd say maybe Cat Deeley, Emma Willis, Caroline,

Apart from Dermot, we don't really have any decent lead tv hosts in this country apart from Ant & Dec who are on BGT, who would fit the bill.

Holly Willougby & Reggie Yates were embarrassing on The Voice. Vernon Kay is grossly overated. Stephen Mulhern is no good and Phillip Schofield does enough already. After that you are down to the dregs doing ITV2, Big Brother & MTV type stuff. I suppose that Emma Willis is semi-acceptable but don't get me started on the types doing BOTS (Rylan ). Caroline Flack on her own is poor, it was the partnership with Olly that worked.

If I had to put some money down, I reckon Cowell would bring in that Laura Whitmore from MTV & the I'm & Celeb ITV2 show. Eye candy.

Even though she wasn't great on The Voice, I actually think Holly Willoughby would do a good job on X Factor.

If Dermot goes it would probably have to be a woman to replace him, and the only person who would be fully capable of holding together a programme of that scale is Davina McCall. I don't think they'd go for someone inexperienced, the show is a different beast now to what it was when they first took on Dermot.

Holly was great as the Xtra Factor host tbh. She was slightly on the cringier side on certain occasions but she has a really sweet, pleasant personality which clicks well with the adult demographics like mothers. Though mummies equally like handsome men too like Dermot (my mother loves Dermot).

To give credit where it is due, Dermot is incredibly charming and spontaneous. He's a really down-to-earth guy and comes up with a quick joke on the spot which really lightens up the mood and makes things more entertaining. And he's smart: he dresses up smartly and speaks really well. As much as I like Ant and Dec, they're too annoying - on nearly every reality show that there is, not that funny and a bit dumb. They're not anywhere near Dermot's charm or smartness.

I personally don't want Dermot to go anywhere.

Emma Willis would be popular, though maybe annoying for some,

Probably some Radio 1 guy, id like Scott Mills but we'd easily get Nick Grimshaw since his love for 1D which would be tasteless

Well to be honest if Dermot got sacked that would be it for me. He is the person that kept it together I feel bad for the USA audience having that camp guy Ben Shepard is better than him.

They would probably get some generic person like Kate Thornton to replace him.
