DTC Storylines

I cant wait (like most of us) for DTC storylines to kick in.

Spoilers over the next few weeks are again full of the Brannings and the boring Hartman's while icons like Sharon are ignored yet again.

When will DTC' storylines start hitting the screens?

also Jake's entrance continues to be a slow burner.

I'd suspect we'd see some of his work towards end of November and through December but majority still Newman's work, and since no announcements have been made whilst the show was under Neman's tenure about 2014, I'd suspect that's when DTC will fully take control?

I've seen spoilers about Kat, Jean, Alfie, Ronnie, Roxy, Phil, Peggy and Shirley. With Ronnie returning and Jean leaving they should be getting airtime.

The Brannings that do need more airtime are Dot, Carol and Cora (essentially not a Branning) but connected.

I hope he kills off this teens on tour kind of crap, the only teens in that group worth a light are Peter, Lola & Jay and should be invested in.

I suspect they planned Christmas in January and the year has been plotted out to some degree to allow a series of storylines to climax over the festive season – that is always the case with the show and one of the reasons it suffers so much in other parts of the year.

Even the most lacklustre year will have decent Christmas episodes and I’m sure this year will be no different.

What DTC will be able to do is shape these plots to a certain degree and add some twists where required.

I see no Branning overload – there are loads of other characters sharing plots over the next few months – particularly the Mitchells and Moons with Ronnie’s return which will tie in with Jack’s exit. There is also more screentime for the Jacksons with David returning a couple of weeks later.

I also certainly see nothing wrong with the Hartmans – they’re in dire need of development and will need screen time to achieve that.

Haters will hate unfortunately.

I like Ava but I do not like Sam and Dexter.

I would like to see Ava's relationship with Cora developed and with Tanya gone and Rainie nowhere to be seen I think this needs to happen.

I think the Brannings will be slimmed down in 2014 with the departure of Jack and possibly Joey and Alice too...

I agree except, Denny and Kirsty for me!

Kirsty is my favorite now! shes quite kind to Max's kids!

I love Kirsty also. I hated her when she first arrived, but I think that was because I wasn't expecting the 'huge plot twist' to be a new character. She's kind of grown on me however, and she seems to have some great potential.

Absolutely. Jamie Borthwick acts the entire teenage lot into the bin and I reckon he's well up there with some of the high-profile adults (e.g. Charlie Brooks). I'm not Lola's greatest fan, especially not mired down with the Scarlett/Phil/Billy tedium, but out of the current lot she's half-decent. Peter's showing signs of promise as well

Re. storylines, gritty realism (Brookside style) would be interesting, without mass sensationalism (Santer).

not saying it was or wasnt but at the time there were no reports the actress had signed with the show so it was a genuine shock. One could be forgiven for forgetting derek's death, it was clumsily handled and treated as an afterthought.Unlike max secret which was overly hyped

It seems a long time since Chryed left and the LGBT representation in the show is non existent as Danny has proved to be a flop so far on his return. I hope that DTC can rectify this because we saw a great love affair with Chryed and the LGBT representation needs representating in EE once again.

I dont care if it is two women, two men, a bisexual character or a transgenered character.

I would be disappointed if a Gay man like DTC did not introduce some new LGBT characters- if it can work for Hollyoaksthen it can work for EastEnders.

She does have potential, have you seen the way she kept banging on the restaurant door, shes scary,
She belongs with Carl personally, Max needs to be single for a while!

Now we know Shirley is alive plus the arrival of Tina there is no way Carl can stay on the show.

The White Family will not be joining in my opinion.
