At least he was given the grace of being buried and not chucked in a wheelie bin

I do a lot of running, and its a quite regular occurrence to see dead cats in the verges of roads. Did not know about the mymoggy website so will post any ones I spotted there, if it saves someone a lot of searching.

I also know round our way there was a scam going where people would steal pets, and wait for the "reward" poster to go up - I think this was more with dogs.

Do they stay there indefinately, rotting away, or do the council eventually shovel them up and remove them??

How can i let my cat out only in the daytime and will she stay in the garden only. I dont want her roaming around everywhere but i dont want to live where i have to worry about doors and windows being left open in the summer if i kept her as a house cat. Shes only 8 weeks old.

Cats are still pretty well wild animals, they roam and come and go as they please - initially they 'may' stay in the garden, but will tend to roam further afield over time.

Didn't you see the series 'A Secret Life Of Cats'?, that REALLY showed how cats roam.

No my friend told me to try watch it if i can get hold of it. Really want to see it now. I dont want to stop her going out and i know she will like it, but its the worry that anything happens to her that i dont know i could cope with that. i live on a quiet estate but you just dont know where they will end up.

I honestly think that's just what you have to accept with cats. It's not fair to keep them as inside cats, generally. Don't let it out until about four months tho and get it spayed ASAP

cat proof your garden then she will be an inside cat with garden access best of both worlds and you get to keep your sanity

My cat is getting on (arthritis) and he's not a great leaper / climber any more and so it was a fairly simple process of using cheapish netting from Zooplus to block off the only exit point to next door's garden.

Do a Google search for "cat enclosures" and you'll get loads of ideas. Some are expensive hightech fencing, there's small enclosures (like a giant rabbit hutch) to full-on enclosures the size of a house extension. It's all down to budget, layout of your garden, and how much faff you want to get into really.

Depending on your cat it may be next to impossible

One of our cats used to chimney up between two VERY close houses down the street a little - we always wondered how he used to get on the roofs?
