Hi all,

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I'm with Virgin Mobile. Every so often (it varies, sometimes once a fortnight, sometimes twice in one day) I receive a phonecall from a specific mobile phone number. Whenever I answer this call, all I hear is this long-paced beeping; then it goes silent for a while, then there's a shrieking beep.

Every single time.

So I tried calling the number a couple of times to find out who it was (clearly a mobile number). No answer either time. So I sent a couple of text messages, one of which asked me who I was, then asking how I got the number.

Any clues people?

Hi,
It could be someone sending a fax from a Laptop, connected to / using the mobile as a modem..?

or

With Orange you can have faxes forwarded / copied to another number (land-line or mobile)..? Therefore they could have entered your number by mistake!

Definitely a fax call.

The initial long beep, is to inform you it is a fax call.

So you think someone is mistakingly 'faxing' information to me instead of a similar number? If so, should I just call this person and mention as much?
