Make sure you haven't accidentally moved the lock button on the side. Press and hold the the Menu button for three seconds. Press the Tune button within three seconds to confirm, otherwise the reset will cancel. Then do an Autotune. If that doesn't work, disconnect all the leads, insert a couple of fresh AA cells and repeat the reset procedure. Finally, remove it from the vehicle, remove the battery lid and leave it indoors in a warm place for a day or two in case it's suffering from condensation. |

As well as trying it with fresh batteries, check that the car power lead is in good nick and if possible try another lead with the required mini-USB connector.
