What, you mean this is a "post your home screen" thread!

I reckon if you guys want to carry on then wouldn't it be best to start another thread and keep this one on topic??

And just for the record a iPhone IS a smart phone.

End of discussion lol

It sounds to me as if you think feature phone is just another word for low end or entry level. Which it is not. I would certainly rather have a modern feature phone than an older smart phone. And the word smartphone has a specific meaning. It does not mean good.

You can disagree all you like, the etymology is not subjective.

But we are off topic by some distance now so unless you want to start a new thread I'm going to leave you to it.”

The 3GS was a smartphone by standards at the time of release when compared to feature phones at the time of release.

As I said the definition remains the same but spec changes.

THIS might help you define!

And yes I agree, thats enough off topic for now

I remember when there used to be similar threads in the PC forum, except it was post your desktop. Times they are a changing.

Its not really that I object.

I just thought the notion that the iPhone was not a smartphone seemed a bit left field.

It's just a phone. If it's bothering you then let's change the definition. The meaning of words changes all the time. We'll say the iPhone is a smart phone.

Will that do?”

Out of interest, do you have a link to this definition? I genuinely am just curious now because as far as I've always known the iPhone, by anyone's definition, was a smartphone.

You make it sound as though some definition is having to be changed to include the iPhone, even though pretty much any definition I've ever seen anywhere, up until now, would not have needed to be changed.

It's not insulting, it's just such a ludicrous statement as to be laughable. Find me one well known industry insider or analyst who claims the iPhone is not a smartphone - then I might take you seriously.

Well, it is a discussion forum, so it ended up as a discussion.

Maybe something like Instagram is more suited to images without the discussion?

The usual suspects. For the record, this is the wallpaper I use for my homescreen.

It's quite amusing in the context of this thread that the Wikipedia article linked above states that IOS is the only mobile O/S that has NOT been used on a feature phone.

Just out of curiosity... Why do you have 4 different browsers on your homescreen?

I use UCWeb for it's compression feature when out and about, very little 3G here, just use the default browser at home. Don't use the Opera browsers but just left them there for now.

Fair enough.

I like how you've got two applications icons as well.
