The Sets Factor
I don't know if it has been mentioned anywhere but it really annoys me how the judges' desk is not aligned properly with the edge of the steps in the audition room (which is far too big anyway). Maybe it was positioned in this way for the cameras but that just means the set wasn't designed properly. I cannot tell whether it is the perspective of the camera but it seems to also be positioned this way in more 'head on' shots also and in the brief clips of the 'audience audition' set. It is very strange.

Is the desk not slightly curved, whereas the steps are straight so complete alignment isn't possible?
Or do you mean that the desk sits back a bit from the edge of the step, which might be for safety reasons? I was trying to figure out how the blue background behind the contestants (which the giant metallic 'X' sits in front of on its own stand) appears to be L-shaped, yet it 's impossible to see where the corner is as the blue lines seem to sweep rather than bend....... |

I didn't notice that to be honest, but I'll be looking out for it now (yes, I am one of those people as interested in the set as the people on it; sometimes more interested in the set!)
