It struck me when watching the show just how good looking most of the good auditionees were. All the young men that got through had flawless skin and were really good looking and then the girl group were all perfect and proper, plus the duo of girls that got split up were pretty good looking as well. I've yet to see an attractive person being an awful singer.

I know that good looks are pretty much an unwritten rule if you want to succeed in the show but I've never noticed it being so obvious until last night. Was it maybe the lighting?

I didn't watch it, but it's possible that they all had make-up, etc. put on them before going on stage. Or in this day and age, since the audition shows aren't live, it's possible for them to just edit the scars, spots, etc. off people's skin.

I was thinking about make up as well, or editing. The skin on some of the boys was almost too perfect. I just think it'd be interesting to see a contestant with acne and wonky teeth or something have an amazing voice, but I suspect looks are just as important as the voice.

Susan Boyle? (I wonder if that was deliberate though, she looked like the oldest and frumpiest 47 year old I've ever seen).

All I noticed was Sharon Osbourne...I'd given up on the X Factor without a real judge on the panel...thank god she's back...

Hmmm...gray wig anyone? *munch* *munch*

But yes the men were very attractive except for that one at the beginning who hasn't washed his hair in 9 months (ewwww).

And Nicole was looking stunning as well! So was Gary - he's such a sugar daddy...

The only real judge on that panel was Nicole.

Tom Mann - the football coach with all the kids who sang Let Her Go was delicious. I would put him in between two slices of marmite covered toast and eat him any day.

Now Roxie, you don't need to go all Scherzinger Food Metaphor/Kelly Rowland man predator --- save that for XF vs the Voice on Friday :P

Although, I'll have to say I'd agree
