BBC iPlayer Radio Controls do not work anymore

The fast/forward/rewind controls no longer work on the web based iPlayer when listening to radio programs I have recently purchased an iMac and am not sure if this problem is related to switching from a PC but the problem appears when using either Safari or Firefox. It also occurs on an iPad, where it certainly did use to work.

Complaining to the BBC only generates a "we don't respond to individual emails" reply

Has anybody else experienced this problem.

Any advice gratefully received.
