Which character would be the biggest loss to Corrie?
Just as in 2004, Corrie sustained a massive loss when Karen departed, and in 2012 arguably lost its main character in Becky, who do you think would be the biggest loss to Corrie at this point? I ask this because both Tina and Hayley are big characters who are leaving fairly soon, so it will be interesting to see which characters end up filling their space and discovering who the show really wouldn't want to be without.
Personally these are the characters who I think Corrie would sorely miss: - Carla - arguably the most popular and most prolific female character of the last five years except for Becky. Now Becky's gone and Tina's going, Carla is pretty much the female face of Corrie. - Norris - he doesn't get many major storylines but Norris really is the essence of Corrie. Losing him would be like pulling the rug under the show's feet. - Roy - in my eyes, the heart of the show in many respects (alongside Hayley). Now that Hayley's going, I actually fear Roy might go. IMO that would be a major void in Corrie's spread of characters. - David - love him or hate him, he's an integral part of the street and never ceases to get people talking with his storylines. I also think David and Kylie are the best couple on the street currently. Who do you think Corrie needs the most? |

No one currently. There isn't an over reliance on 1 single character compared to the other soaps.

Carla- she has been one of the most popular female characters for a while now. She also in my opinion the best actress corrie has so losing Alison King would be a big loss. Roy, Peter and Kylie would be other big losses.

Mandy of course, Corrie just hasn't been the same since she left, if truth be told i'm considering giving up altogether.

David Platt. Just think of the amount of storylines built around David over the years.

Definitely Carla for me.
I agree with the ones you've mentioned and I'd probably say Deirdre, Kylie and Steve as well. |

![]() Gone, but never forgotten. Karen and Becky were both huge losses for the show, I'd say right now Sally, Tina, Peter or Carla would be major losses for the show. |

As much as people dont like Stella, I think when she leaves she will be missed
And lets be honest, she has made a big impact and is a loss to the show |

Carla, Peter, Leanne or Nick. Those four have made the show amazing for years and the standard and quality of their acting has been 1st class in my opinion, especially in the live episode. One of these guys going would be very sad I think. However, the show has never been the same since Betty Driver died. Fantastic and Talented, she embodied Coronation Street for me

It's all down to personal preference really, some people would miss some characters more than others.
I love Roy, I think he is played incredibly well, being such a vulnerable character, whilst at the same time, incredibly brave and strong. I think Hayley's departure will hit him hard, so I will be more affected by her leaving, than I will be about Tina. At the end of the day, no character is as big as the show. When Bet Lynch left, people said the show would never be the same again, yet it still goes on. |

Definitely Carla
I am biased but I think she's a huge part of the show.I think David would be actually, I think he's a great character. Hayley is going to be a huge loss, as would Roy be - and Norris - they're wonderful characters who I don't think soaps like Eastenders would ever be able to have. |

For me, I can't imagine the street without Rita. Audrey would also be missed but she dies disappear for large chunks.
Gail would be a loss at the moment because she keeps the Platt's together, a bit like how the Mitchell's in EE have depleted as a unit since Peggy's exit. Kylie and Carla are bug stars of the show. Hayley's going to be a massive loss ti because she is a core character who is always there for everyone to relate too, enjoy and the show can fall back on her. In this category we also have Steve, Sally, Deirdre, Peter, Leanne, David, Norris, Tyrone and I think with some work Eileen, Jason, Maria, Julie and Beth could follow into this category. |
