Well, we have a thread for heavy metal and hard rock but I think us fans of blues and blues rock need a thread.

Discuss all things blues here, from the gigs you been to, to the albums you lovingly cherish.

Any one got the album from The Rides (Stephen Stills, Barry Goldberg and Kenny Wayne Shepherd) yet? I got my copy and am about to give it a listen.

This could just as easily fit on the other thread but I'll stick it on here.

Gotta say, the aforementioned album from The Rides is really rather good. I like the cover of Rocking in the Free World.

Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg have formed The Rides and debuted a video for their track Search And Destroy.

Wtf....THEIR track????? That's a very dull cover of Iggy & The Stooges, that seems not to understand the song at all.

The raw & glorious original Iggy &The Stooges - Search And Destroy

Mind you, The Stooges could take it Bluesy when the mood took them - I Need Somebody

Northern Ireland's own Simon McBride

Down on the River - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSBYdYtd0pw

So Much Love - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QWGcZOmm-Q

And of course Mr Gary Moore

Parisienne Walkways - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkUpfw4Hf3w

Cold Day in Hell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cXMfcn9UMM

Forget shredding, the passionate intensity of guys like Gary Moore is true guitar artistry.

Unfortunately, the one night that I saw him it was with Colosseum and it was all jazz fusion...good but not The Blues.

A lot of the 60s british 'pop' groups started off playing blues

Here's the Animals.............Eric Burden had a great voice for the Blues, even when he was probably still a spotty teenager.............sounds like a 100 a day man !
