So I'm assuming all those attacking Courtney for what she said, think that Carol and Charlotte are classy? Or is it because she's American, and she dares to say something less than flattering about the British/English?

It has to be one of the funniest ironic comments of BB or CBB ever. Kenny Everet moment and "All in the best possible taste"
Bursting false breasts and both nipples winking at the camera.
Couldn't script that!!!!

I like Courtney but it did make me laugh when she said that

You are assuming incorrectly. I agree with her that it's not classy. However, coming from someone who flaunts around pretty much in her birth day outfit on national TV makes it laughable.

And I am not British/English nor American.

The thread is asking if she has any right to say anyone else is lacking class. No she absolutely hasn't is my opinion.

But she didn't say" anyone"she specifically said Carol and Charlotte. And if they are your definition of class, then that's up to you.

No one that goes on a reality show is going to have particularly good manners

But I believe the British have comparably good manners to many other European countries and Americans. Every single one the Americans I've met has felt it necessary to shout instead of talk and a disproportionately large number have done ridiculous impressions of the British and claimed we are rude because we don't tip in the same way as them. At least we know how to use a knife and fork correctly

If you read my FIRST reply to you I said NO at the start. Meaning no I don't think Carol or Charlotte are classy!!! OK ???Don't jump on me like that because you are a Courtney fan please.

I have met many very well mannered Americans who don't shout.. They also use a knife and fork the way they were taught , just as the British do. That is an unpleasant sweeping generalisation. There are many bad mannered people in this country as well as others. Many countries don't use cutlery at all.Is that wrong too? Ours is NOT the ruling culture of the world. Those days of that brand of snobbery are long gone, thank goodness.

I'm basing it on physical evidence that I've encountered, yes they do but it's the wrong way round. I couldn't eat with my hands but I respect other cultures that do, that's different, not the same utensils.

They are TAUGHT to eat with the knife and fork in the opposite hand to the British.,That is part of American culture, just as they drive on the opposite side of the road.! Would you like an American condemning you for the way you hold your knife and fork? Do you honestly think that we are correct? I don't understand.

I know they are, but Europeans invented the fork!

Well all we can do is blame those Quakers. Go all the way to America with their cutlery ,to spread the word and didn't teach those pesky Native Americans the correct way to hold a knife and fork.
By the way many people in this country hold their knife and fork in the opposite hands. They are sadly left handed and are barred from all the best restaurants.

My lovely boyfriend is left handed and holds his cutlery fine, his (right handed) brother is another story... He doesn't seem to enjoy my nagging!!

I don't know what they were thinking importing her when there are so many fine British examples of what you describe. Just look at page 3 any day of the week.

It is considered bad manners to fart in public, however, some times it's unavoidable. When that happens people usually say "excuse me". My English family don't fart on purpose either so can't say it is a cultural thing.

I've seen plenty of plastic British hm's over the years to know this is not true. There was one in St Pete's year that had ones twice the size of Courtney's.

That seems to hold true for BB anyway but in the last series there was actually THREE hm's with excellent manners. Dexter, Gina and Hazel all covered their mouth when they yawned. Something lacking in most BB contestants, regular and celeb versions.

All other parts of this Country are also baffled as to why this is found funny by the English when performed by adults, we presume it's for some attention, however it is really funny when a young child does it.

What do you mean not to jump on you. I have made a few post without any tags, and you decided to address me first, so don't get all sensitive because I chose to answer your questions.

It's always sad when a thread descends into a UK versus USA pissing contest, which it seems to every CBB series these days; brings out the worsts qualities in so many that there's never a winner.

So let's just say IF there was somebody who had more class than you ,heavens forbid that should ever be the case ;would they have the right to tell you not to comment on Courtney, due to the fact that they had or felt they had more class than you?
