Yeah it was between the cats and the drug mules in Peru. It's a tough call.

I'm going into the bank this wek too set up a account just for the cats in the sanctuary name. I would love too be come a registered rescue but I would have too have at least £ 600 for insurance and someone too do the books that's before anything for the cats

I run a totally self funding cat sanctuary. Because of health problem and most are ferals they are perminant stayers. I have run in too difficulties today that has totally knocke me for six. I have 35 rescue cats and kittens and 3 of my own cats.

Do you have a strategy or is this a short term crisis bridge?

Why are you asking for supplies if it's self funding?

Not realy I know I should do. It has happened before but with as better prepared last time, this was totally out of the blue,

A bit of what I have done and some of the cats
Guinness was rescued on bonfire night 2005. We looked after him whilst the local pub have a firework display. My own cat Kado was besotted with him and Guinness was not been looked after properly he stayed. The first kitten I rescue is called lucky he was only 5 wks when I found him too.. The vet said he wouldn't have survived much longer. Maisey was dumped in the local villiage park and was pregnant at the time too.she gave birth too 4 beautiful kittens. Peaches, chunkey, Vera and spirit. We sadly lost peaches this year too liver failure. Less than two weeks later the local school brought me gabby. She was also abandond. Then smokey came a few months later he's was a little feral kitten. He was brought too me in a carrier bag. With an infected and healed broken leg too. After weeks of cage rest he was fine. But after that he became too frieghtend of humans . The last January a couple I had spoken too months ago asked if they could bring me a cat. She been left behind by her owners and at one point been flushed in a toilet by a horrible person. She gave birth too 4 lovely kittens with one born a swimmers kitten where they walk like a frog and one them is blind in an eye too we think or has very poor sight. I also handrear feral kittens too if I feel they are in danger as well. About 18 months ago I was asked too help this pair of kittens . I did catch one but Harry was only about 8 wks too but after 3 wks he became realy poorly and after treament for days I had too let him go he was too poorly. I wisperd in his ear I promise too look after all your siblings and your mummy too. His mum and sister I got eventually SPEYED not by me but a another local charity as every time they saw me they ran. Well my first two where called hinge and bracket. Bracke last year became realy poorly and we nearly lost him too phimosis . All the treatment for that came too just over £300. He now is carried around like a baby and clings too my daughter. Then there was the next lot. Which where related too them there where five little bungles of fun they where aged about 6 days too. At 17 days they all came down with cat flu so I had too treat them. With them two litter I must have made well over a thousand bottles fed them upto every hour as well. I went throunatbleast two tins of cimicat per week as well. Then the dustbin man ask if I would take four kittens in. I just couldn't say no. They where the dirtyiset kittens I have ever seen. The two sisters where rehomed and the boys stayed here. One of them has got a flat chest. Where the ribs feel like there fused at top and bottom. He also has a misaligned jaw as well. These are just a few of the cats in the sanctuary. Because they all have problems they stay. There too freightend of human contact too. They are used too us though. I have had donations or gifts before sorely for my cats. Anything that comes in her goes too the cats. My latest 4 are 3 feral kittens and there mum. Who was left behind when there owners left.

Again - if it's "totally self funding" why are you asking for money and supplies?

errrr... because by the sounds out it the cost of the vet bills etc means poor Maisey can no longer AFFORD to BE self funded and has got herself into a wee bit of cash flow issues because of what I can imagine to be huge vet bills and food bills etc with taking on so many unwanted and unloved kitties.

I try too do my best but sometimes I need help. It's usually only myself that funds it. And due to curcumstaces beyond my control I can't to it at the moment. Yes people say why don't you rehome or why do you still help. There's not many in my own area that helps cats especially ferals. These cats don't get along with other humans either.

So why would she say she's totally self funding? It's not the first time she's had to ask for money, having glanced at previous threads.

ETA - and looking at the above post, mostly funded from her pocket - so not self funding at all?

I do not get any help via grants or anything like that yes I have asked before too. You all can check up on that too. Yes it does come from my own pocket your right there for sure. I did this without help for years too but its been since I've had the ill oaps that I had problems.

Maisy, if you need money, you should look into registering as a charity. Otherwise, how are people online to know you are genuine and not just another scammer? It's happened on here before.

No I need too set up an account as I have too if I need too become a registered charity eventually.but when you do that I need too have a bank account set up in my cats sanctuary name

And what do you mean by saying your cat sanctuary has been closed down, if in effect you are taking in strays and paying from your own pocket, how can that suddenly stop and yet the cats are still OK?

Hi Deb, the cats wouldn't be ok after the next day or so as Maisey would run out of food, which is why some of us have jumped in and ordered food and cat litter to help out. I have had Ferals before, they are amazing wee souls. I hate the idea of anyone walking away and leaving their poor pet behind.

A much better time than I chose Richard. I forget that not everyone gets up at 6am.
