slow texts

guys
can any one tell me why texts take up to a day to exchangeor is there something wrong

my wife asked the question because she texted her friend last night and she did not receive it till this morning
sorry i did nt know that it was handset and provider specific
i do not know the text recipiants details it was more of a general question really

O2 and especially Orange can be very slow at sending / receiving texts.

Network topology and software is designed by humans and therefore suffers from the same information loss and error that humans display at times.

Certain networks suffer more than others, although its my experience that a key offender in this area is O2.

Unfortunately, until the machines take over, we must tolerate these occasional data losses. In years to come, the old gsm networks will become obselete and these little quirks will be referred to with affection.
