I and two other friends read them as a bet (We earned our expensive dinner for doing it! ) They truly are the WORST things i have ever read. A complete and utter mess. No way in hell i will sit though the movie, unless it's goes into Showgirls level of badness. For those who don't know here are some of the more famous quotes from it:

"I'm going to f**k you now, Miss Steele," He murmurs as he positions the head of his erection at the entrance of my sex. Hard."

"His breathing is ragged, matching mine.
When did you start your period, Anastasia?"
"He reached between my legs and pulls on the blue string - what? - and gently takes my tampon out and tosses it into the nearby toilet. Holy f**k. Sweet mother of all... Jeez. And then he's inside me... ah!"

Christian lays beside me, his hand caressing my belly, his long fingers splayed out wide.
"How's my daughter?"
"She's dancing." I laugh.
"Dancing? Oh yes! Wow. I can feel her". He grins as Blip Two somersaults inside me.
"I think she likes sex already."

Sounds dreadful but then it's a dreadful book by all accounts.

The timing seems a bit odd. Normal procedure when you get something massively over-rated by the zeitgeist is to bang out a crap film ASAP, trouser the cash and move on quick-stylee (see also the Keith Lemmon film and that lesbian vampire flick that Horne and Corden did).

Surely they've missed the boat?

The release version is presumably going to have to get an MPAA R rating, meaning it's going to be really really toned down.

Nope. I refuse to touch the books as well. The story was originally fanfic of Twilight. Fanfic should stay fanfic.

If I wanted to watch porn, I'd watch porn. At least the dialogue there is intentionally shit.

Apparently Disney are making the film and have been ordered to make it family friendly. So the film will be a U certificate.

That would be funny, were it even remotely correct. It's being handled by Focus Features, the indie arm of Universal...

Seriously I can imagine queues round the block for this whether it is a good film or bad. And I can see it becoming the biggest grossing adult film of all time. And then presumably the two sequels will follow.

Yes I will watch them and don't mind admitting it...I read books..all kinds of books..I knew as soon as I bought these that I wasn't going to reading a classic!!!!!!!...I took them for what they were..a bit of tongue in cheek dirty reading..the film will be the same..it wont be up there with the greats but no shame in reading or watching x

There has already been a film of this nature called "Secretary" released in 2002 and wouldn't you know it.. the dominant guy in that is called.. wait for it... Mr Grey !!

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmSO07r_zTc

They will probably make a film similar to this but with the characters from the books and perhaps some of the locations and settings. But that's where the association will end.

I weep for the authors who are struggling to get their books published.

I agree with you about Charlie and lets hope he is in a state of undress most of the time.

No chance! Not read the books and have no intention of doing so. Why should I add to the coffers of this "author"?

It will probably be, but I imagine a large chunk of the audience will be hate-watching.

And seeing as it's from a (slightly) indie studio, it may not necessarily be R-rated either. However, it's more likely to be unrated than NC-17...

I'm not. The book was harmless fun but a film would just be stupid

I tried reading it, gave up after two or three chapters.

I shall be giving this a miss.

I might see it for a laugh, but the excerpts from the book just sound plain silly, LOL I assume the author is a middle aged woman? dirty mills and boon imo!
