Vidalta tablets
Strena
04-09-2013
My cat's just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and been put on daily Vidalta tablets. In a few weeks she'll have another blood test and assessed for surgery. If she's not stable enough, she'll be put on another course of tablets. She's on 10mg at £35 for 30 pills. I'm quite happy to keep payng this every month for her, but am wondering if they can be bougth cheaper elsewhere. I've seen the tablets on a number of websites, but could I be doing my cat harm by not using the vet's perscription? Anyone bought these from an online provider?

It is likely they are prescription only but you can ask for the prescription from the vet and submit it to an online veterinary pharmacy if it is cheaper, which is highly likely.

Average online price is around 44p per 10mg tablet (£13,20 for 30).
Vets charge around £10 for a written prescription so you'll still save.
I have saved a lot of money buying from online pharmacies

ask your vet what their prescription charges would be and shop around

one of the vets here charges £20 for a prescription, but a more average cost is £15 i hear

We get Vitalda from Vets UK. 44p per tablet. You send Prescription from vets to them (make sure you have a photocopy) This last for six months before you need a new prescription

Tablets take approx. five or six days to arrive/vet charges us £10 for prescription

couple of pence cheaper per tablet from vio vet

http://www.viovet.co.uk/Vidalta_Tabl...FYPHtAodWH8AbA

or 33p per tablet with animed direct and free delivery
http://www.animeddirect.co.uk/prescr...blet-10mg.html

used both of these sites for, admittedly non-prescripton drugs, but had no trouble with either of them
