I'd already wondered on another thread if any of these rules were being broken - don't know if they were though:

something did need to be done, the amount of threads was verging on ridiculous, I came on here on saturday and practically the whole first page was threads started by Terry - I couldnt be bothered searching through to find the thread I was looking for so logged out again

I think the merge is for the best - the flooding of the forum was becoming a little much.
Whilst I appreciate you can ignore, the threads are still there - a lot of them quite repetitious and pushing down loads of other threads. Plus the constant bumping of them and re-flooding of the front page didn't exactly help.

Re 2.18, well I'd say that it's pretty clear Terry is trolling the Strictly threads and is basically at the windup.
He knows that his spamming behavior in particular, plus other lesser things ( like the randomly capitalised and deliberatelly misspelt titles ( his spelling magically improves in his actual posts ), annoys many posters to different degrees, but he persists, clogging up the first page like at the weekend when interesting topics were quickly going to page 2 while his various often banal questions kept appearing.
People are all individuals and some can behave strangely, and don't deserve picked on for that, but to me this is no innocent abroad, he knows what he is doing and very tellingly I understand that this is nothing like his behavior elsewhere on the DS forums where presumably he is acting normally.
Moderating can be a thankless task, you are often damned if you do and damned if you don't and whether or not someone actually breaks the total letters of the T&C decisions still sometimes need made for the considered good of the forum.

BIB - me too. Deleted "apparently" from your post as there was no question in my mind what he was doing.
The bit I don't understand is what changed the minds of the Mods. He wasn't doing anything any different than he had before so
I don't get the sympathy he is getting from some FMs. He has brought all of this upon himself. If you behave like an arse you will get it kicked eventually

Why should the mods be sensitive ? Its gone on now for three series and bothered many many posters . So is one attention seeking soul more important than the rest of us

I in some ways get what you say.
But in this case as I said this is no innocent abroad and he was effectively mocking the FMs with his thread titles being quite a part of this.
Arguably, not entirely inappropriate, and yes I smiled.

No it's more like the judge choosing to walk across the court and slap the defendant because the public gallery are up in arms at the defendant's alleged crime.
Maybe the mods asked him what he wanted his new merged thread title to be and that's what he picked....?? It does sounds like one of his titles so very likely imho....
Forget the mod behaviour, do posters think it's rude or hurtful to line up announcing they've got an individual poster on ignore? That's the opposite of ignoring. That's saying lalala with your fingers in your ears to insult someone. It's not good for the emotions of the person doing it either. There is a skill in shrugging and letting it go!

I may be wrong, but I suspect Terry himself accepts that he is banged to rights and if he has issues it certainly won't be with this thread title.
Some folk need to get real, he knew what he was doing and is hardly going to be devastated by the mods adopting his put on title format ( if it is just the mods without any input from Terry ).

I wonder what will happen to this thread? As far as I know it's against forum rules to discuss another poster the way that Terry has been discussed here. Will the thread be locked? Do the mods intend creating further merged threads each time one has to be locked? Should be interesting to watch
