Leave her to the results show and then to the Dancers lounge when Brucie goes!

Agree. The contrast of Claudia & Tess is very refreshing in what is after all normally a male dominated presenters role.
" Revealing that Claudia Winkleman will stand in for the veteran TV host, Strictly tweeted: “Poor Sir Bruce has flu and so Claudia will be hosting alongside Tess tomorrow at 6.20 pm on @BBCOne. Let's all wish Brucie a get well soon!” Get well Sir Bruce from us all. " The fashion designer said: “I love Bruce. What nobody sees is, before the live shows, he actually sings a song to the audience. I'm always there at the end of the row listening to it. Everyone's like, 'Where's Julien? Oh, he's listening to Bruce again!' “Bruce is amazing. He's just really enthusiastic and full of fun, and knows how to have a laugh. He came up to me after the show and said, 'I really loved your comments to the judges. We've never had anybody like you on the show.'” " http://www.entertainmentwise.com/new...y-Come-Dancing |

I do love Claudia but not in the ' gushy girls ' role that we will be seeing on tonight's show when she stands in for Sir Bruce this week because he is ill.
Tess and Claudia for the rest of the series please, even if Claudia does get a bit excited. At least she won't come out with lame jokes, fluff lines and she'll be able to read the autocue. |

I would obviously prefer to see Sir Bruce in charge of Strictly tonight, but that said Claudia looks amazing in her green and black liquorice allsorts dress, and how shiny is her lovely black hair.
Does anyone else wish that Claudia would cut her fringe a bit though, so we can see more of her lovely eyes? |

Disappointed - the BBC web site said that Claudia was replacing Sir Bruce tonight - unfortunately Tess has replaced Sir B. Claudia much better than Tess, imo.

Both of these screeching harridans shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a TV camera!

I like Claudia and used to find her really funny on ITT. Wish people would stop bashing her.

The papers have no excuse for not telling us about Claudia's eye op, it looks like it has been well publicised and been in the pipe line for some time, although I must admit I didn't know about it until today, this article in 'Now magazine' was back in 2010.
" Claudia Winkleman to have major eye surgery " http://www.nowmagazine.co.uk/celebri...or-eye-surgery |

Sir Terry ,
sorry cant agree , just can't look at her if they want a full time pairing and can't find a male comic who isn't much less funny, I would still go with Tess and Zoe. Zoe has massive live TV and radio experience doing short snappy and clear interviews to time. She's also been there and can dance most things better than the contestants. |

That's not major eye surgery, it's what happens every day of the week when people have cataract operations. Takes 20 minutes each eye (done on different days of course) old lens taken out, new lens inserted. That's it, back to waiting room, cup of tea or coffee and biscuit then home. I should know, I've had both eyes operated on in this way.
We need to hear more opinions about Claudia whatever they are? |

To be fair she was OK tonight because they let Tess carry the progression and time management of the show, and the jokes, and kept Claudia not doing much. There was no scope for rambling inconsequential comments and interviews - as they had 15 people to get through . Its also noticeable that Tess has picked up a lot from Bruce over the years about what the presenter should say about the judges comments, and how to deliver the jokes the show provides.

Just an OK, is that a good or bad for Claudia? Not being able to find a male comic up to Sir Bruces standard goes without saying. |

I can't believe some still fall for her tired old act. Charles Laughton had better posture swinging from the bells of Notre Dame, Paul O'Grady had better make-up in his pub days and just about anyone had a better wit. She clearly adores herself though so it would have no effect if she was dispatched pronto to the empty room her talent merits.

OMG! Why on earth is Claudia wearing a black coal sack on tonight's show ?
Are coal sacks a new fashion now ? |

Sir Bruce is obviously the master of Strictly Come Dancing but that's not to say that Claudia didn't do well over the weekend because she did and The Daily Express paid tribute to Claudia today.
" Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were a big hit on Saturday night [BBC] " http://www.express.co.uk/news/showbi...h-in-the-shade Did you enjoy Claudia on Strictly over the weekend or was it too much girlie gushing for your taste? |

I didn't think there was any girlie gushing at all from Claudia. Some of Tess's jokes fell a bit flat but other than that, they were a great pairing for the show. They managed to get through 15 dances and let the judges have their say. It all ran smoothly - I wouldn't be afraid to bet that wouldn't have been the case if Bruce Forsyth had been presenting. We'd have been lucky to get 2 judges comments per contestant in order to fit in his jokes.
Claudia has a good rapport with the celebrities after they have danced (more so than Tess) and I love that she goes off-script quite a bit and adds her own little jokes without having to read them all off auto cue like Bruce and Tess. |

Claudia Is Lovely! - Why Can't People Just Leave Her Alone ? - Lets Celebrate her current role on Strictly Come Dancing instead .
Lets have a Claudia free zone this series and celebrate her current role on Strictly Come Dancing instead of all the silly knit picking that goes on every year about the poor woman, she really doesn't deserve all the petty criticism she gets in the press and other places. " Sack the make-up artist! Claudia Winkleman arrives to the GQ Awards with smudged eye-shadow, messy hair and an uneven tan " " What happened to Claudia Winkleman? The TV presenter seemed to have got ready in the dark confines of a box before heading to the GQ Awards " http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...neven-tan.html |

I think Claudia's great. A nice change from the generic tall blonde in low cut dress that we normally see on these programmes. I love her kooky quirky look and her demure dress sense. She's a real individual and doesn't seem to take herself too seriously.

I have always loved her but as I was there Saturday night and saw a lot of her off camera, I am even more in love, and so is my OH. Swears like a trooper and extremely funny. Adore her.
