Couldn't agree more. I modded one of the largest gaming forums for more than seven years and most posters were utterly oblivious to the amount of work which went on behind the scenes and would just jump when they thought something had been done out of nowhere.

I'd put money on the fact that they've finally reached a point where they feel compelled to do something. Plus, their forum their rules and they can do what they want whether people have complained or not.

Mods are forum members otherwise they wouldn't be able to post

In the old days it used to say on each particular forum who the Mods were but now it generally doesn't.
Mods who post in the forums also used to have proper names not just DS support staff but the main mod left Hurst Media as far as I am aware and he was the community manager for the forums and was a great guy who used to post a lot.

Oh the BBC SCD boards were absolutely hilarious and make this place look like a holiday camp
They were truly funny and bonkers in equal measure. Talk about taking it all too seriously Do you remember the Cherie fans?

Aye, but the year that Kelly Brook was a contestant was the worst ever, the vitriol that came out on that forum I'm surprised their Mods had time to even pee!

I imagine the mods were tired of logging on to find masses of threads on the first page from the same poster, all eulogising the most lame or loathed dancers of the moment ALL CAPS and with that same member making empty bumps to keep them up the top. If said poster had tried out his wit to entertain people with the threads, it could have been different. I say that was a genuine shame because it was a missed opportunity.
