It's been so quiet? No real news on music or dance order. Some predictions for tonight -

1. Keyshawn & Sharna - Samba -unless he completely let's loose and moves his hips...this could be really stiff. I don't have high hopes for him I just hope he looks like he's having fun even if he doesn't have great technique.

2. Peta & Brant - Rumba - I think he could pull off a really nice Rumba. The real question will be how sexy will they go? Too sexy and Len will say it's raunchy. This is all on Peta and what she does with the choreo. If they don't do the expected i.e. "showmance routine" and I think that would impress more.

3. Elizabeth & Val - Samba - she can dance...no question. Great lines. But Samba is all about really shaking the hips and getting down. I hope she let's loose and goes for it. Been wondering how she'll do in the latin dances...we shall see. Excited to see what Val does with the choreo.

4. Corbin & Karina - Jive - I think he will be fine. On paper he might be the high scorer of the night. Karina is one of the better choreographers for jive and quickstep IMO. Coming off of contemporary like Elizabeth & Christina, we will finally see how things are holding up in the ballroom dances for them.

5. Bill Nye & Tynne - Paso Doble - This might suit him better than the sassy cha cha. But I don't expect his technique to be amazing. More than anything I think this will be entertaining vs. being great.

6. Christina & Mark - Paso Doble- Their contemporary was dark and serious. I think the same mood is needed for paso so I think she will pull of the character of it fine. On paper this should be good so I'm excited to see what direction Mark goes with the choreo.

7. Bill Engvall & Emma - Jive - I'm expecting a somewhat slow jive, just because of his age. He's a charming performer so I think he'll do better than he did the 1st week.

8. Jack & Cheryl - Rumba- I think his technique will be good. Cheryl will make sure of that. It's questionable if he can really get into the sexy/sensual side of selling the dance. I have a feeling Brant will get more into character....just because he's an actor and is used to it.

9. Leah & Tony -Samba - Probably depends on how nervous she is. If she takes some notes from JLO this could be decent. However I don't usually love Tony's choreo for Samba. She'll need to bring it on the performance side and Tony needs to bring it on the choreo side. Otherwise this could be just okay.

10. Amber & Derek - Jive - She surprised me week 1 so who really knows what she'll do this week. I'm guessing this will be a good jive. Like Kirstie Alley in her season I am mostly concerned about her stamina to keep up in the jive. Derek might reduce the jive content so she is able to put on a show. Like cha cha which is fun and sassy I think she'll perform well in the jive. On paper I think Corbin will have the more dynamic jive so I don't think she'll maintain that top spot.

11. Snooki & Sasha - Don't know what dance they are doing...so I won't even bother to guess.

12. Valerie & Tristan - I don't think the producers would be cruel enough to give her the jive. My guess is the Rumba since it is a slower dance. With her dance background I think she would have a beautiful Rumba. Probably less sensual and more inspirational though.

Top scorers might be Corbin, Elizabeth or Christina. I think these 3 have the potential to have great technique/execution.

Getting excited for tonight!

When I first heard about Nina and Derek I laughed because I've mistaken her for Cheryl Cole....who used to date Derek also. They kind of look alike to me.

I pretty much agree with everything but I still cant warm up to Elisabeth although she is a good dancer; She is just so  for some reasons and no personality whatsoever well IMO.

I really hope that Jack , Big Engvall or Snooki go farther than her. And I think that Jack has a good chance ; He is one of the dark horse of this competition .

I am rooting for 1-Corbin ,2- Christina, 3-Snooki.
I like Brant, the 2 Bills, Jack , Amber and Valerie . I Cant be bothered with the rest of the cast.

Who I want to make the finale : Corbin, Christina, Snooki
Who I think is going to make the finale : Corbin, Amber and 3rd place I'm not too sure at this point (possibly Brant or Jack ).

To each their own. I like her. I think I've gotten a sense of her personality by watching some interviews she's done. She doesn't have a loud/out there personality...but then again I wouldn't really expect that from a 41 year old married woman with a child. She seems pretty genuine and sincere...that goes a long way for me. Whether other folks warm up to her...time will tell. But I think she is capable of handling Val's choreo so I'm excited to see him go for it.

Jack going far...I'm going to wait and see how he does in the Latin first

Bill E. might be screwed....some underscoring going on with him...they might keep that going this week. If they do.. I can't imagine him going too far. They did that with Ralph Machio a few seasons ago too.

Snooki - if she keeps showing good technique she might go pretty far...I just don't think she'll make the finals though.

Overall I think after awhile it does come down to the dancing (among other things). If Elizabeth is dancing well and is at the top of the leader board she can go far. How far...I don't know because fanbase is a factor as well.

Omg I love tonight show.

Tristan made me cry , what a sweetheart and I like him and Valerie.
-Mark and Christina Paso was outstanding ; Mark never disappoints with his Pasos
-Bill The Science guy Paso was PURE GENIUS; I LOVED IT
-Jack is the darkorse of the competition; very impressed with his rumba.
-Loved Snooki's rumba ; I understand the judges remarks but I still think that she was slightly undermarked by 1 or 2 points.
-Loved Brant and Peta rumba as well.
-Once again Im impressed with Amber and Derek, that was way better than I expected.
-WOW at Corbin and Karina
-Omg and Leah and Tony's samba was the best samba of the night. I LOVED IT, I was so impressed with it. Full of personality and content.

I think that Elisabeth and Val are not pulling the votes just like I thought ; I wont miss them if they leave next week .They dont do anything for me.

Wow so many good dances tonight. Amber (or semi at least ) and Corbin will make the finale guarantee !!!

Not surprised with the result.

I absolutely loved this; Cant stop watching it .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuRTB...layer_embedded

One of the things that I love about Mark's choreography is how he manages to give a modern edge to some dances without sacrificing the technique and this was a perfect example; he always manage to find the perfect balance .

So exciting to see these 2 progress in this competition .

Overscored :
-Elisabeth and Val by 2 points at least.
-Leah and Tony by 1 point
-Jack and Cheryl by 2 points.
Underscored
-Snooki and Sasha.

The other scores were fair.

Week 2 clips

Longer clips with Brook's bit
Beware - they run in reverse order and the elimination is in the first clip!

Shorter clips but better quality
Also in reverse order so leaderboard and elimination first!

Oh Btw now that Derek Finally won his Emmy, will he finally move on from the show ? I hope so.
I have a feeling that he wont be back next season .
I know that this is going to open even more doors for him , great for him so will he take that break from the show now ?
And I have NO Doubts that he will probably make the finale this season or the semi at least .

Oh and what happened to the movie that he was supposed to release months ago ? Cobu I believe

Julianne Hough's hollywood career went a bit " stale " though especially since Ryan Seacrest broke up with her; And I cant believe the dress the wore last night at the Emmys of all places
Thanks for your comments and insights!

Julianne's movie career is doing just fine. Variety just posted an exclusive about a new movie she'll be starring in.

Derek has said many times that he'll always be part of DWTS in some way. He said Maks will too, if I understood his reference to Maks and the show correctly.

He and Val have a good relationship. I remember Val being in the car with Derek when they were in the snow somewhere--Utah, I believe--and heard their BHB single playing on the radio for the first time. He's been very supportive of Derek, and I saw them congratulate each other last night (at DWTS taping).

Shirley Ballas has had nothing but good things to say about Val. She says he's competitive, of course--most guys are--and she seems very fond of him.

Derek has said he's had offers to do other things but had to turn them down because the show (and/or BBC) wouldn't permit it. Who knows if they will loosen the reins or not.

Cobu 3D has been renamed Make Your Move and gotten some terrific reviews in the countries where it's played. Don't ask me where because I didn't make a note of it . There's a website devoted to it (I think) but it's not on my radar.

Julianne occasionally dresses sensationally. I'm not sure who to blame for that Emmys dress--Jenny Packham, Julianne, or her stylist.

Went to the September 23 DWTS taping. Had a fantastic bird's-eye view of everything and will write up a summary later. Julianne was there and will fill in for one time for Len Goodman as a judge in two weeks.
