Oops just realised in my earlier post that I completely forgot about Leah & Tony - not a good sign.

Finally saw all the dances this week agreed with Len about Corbin & Karina's dance that it was great but not a viennesse waltz starting to like Sasha more though I still think that he looks like he is marking it when he dances with Snooki sorry Nicole I know I get at some pros for over dancing but sometimes Sasha looks like he is putting no effort in and walking through it.

I actually like Brant dance for once granted they were in hold the whole time so that could be why. Amber was good but seriously can we see a different side to this partnership? Elisabeth and Val actually danced like they knew each other. Loved Bill & Emma's partnership but what was with that music?? Also think Cheryl and Jack work well together he seems to really enjoy dancing & it shows. All did well in switch up challenge and I enjoyed it.


Agree that the show is taken far too seriously more seriously than strictly; it is only a plastic glitterball at the end of the day. the tptb and judges have too much say/power and it is hard to ignore but I still like dwts prefer strictly but always did - hate the format this year on dwts


Don't think so. I don't mind team dances but don't like them having an effect on scores and someone from the losing team nearly always leave (think once on doi someone in the top team ended up in the bottom two but not sure) so it is very unfair to be so unbalanced.

I'm not sure whether this has previously been mentioned, but the fact that 3 of the 4 professionals that made the finals last year (Derek, Val and Karina) look very likely like they're going to be there again, as much as having someone like Derek getting a consistently strong group of Celebs is always a contentious point, having the same finalists each year? It does seem like Val and Karina may have copies of the photographs of the producers Derek keeps in his safe...

He said some interesting things I had no idea about, such as after the first two weeks he sometimes had input on which dances to perform, and how he had to fight to get the music done the way he wanted, and how the previous week he hadn't liked the song so got that changed.

I was a little unclear what he meant about the 4-hour rehearsal time not allowing much media interruption and that he liked it better. I wasn't sure which way he liked better, although his last statement that it broke up the rehearsals a little more sounded like he missed the media breaks.

Tristan is such a great guy and a real gentleman.

It did sound like he liked the breaks that the media provided.

Did you think it sounded like he way saying goodbye to DWTS at the end of that interview at the top of the blog? That's the impression I got but I realize he could just be saying he had a blast being on the show - meaning just this last one that Valerie was in. But I got an ominous feeling reading that line.

Nothing to do but wait and see. DWTS is very much a "star pro" system, and Tristan has had 5 partners, yet not a single one was capable of making the finals. The one who came closest was his first partner, who made the quarter finals, and she was overweight and 52 years old, and not even a performer but a news reader. The average age of his partners is 59 years old. And that about says it all, when it comes to how they've treated him.

Derek and Mark get most of the good dancers. Val has been fairly "lucky" as well. I feel sorry for pros like Louis and Tony, even though I don't particularly rate them.

For those interested a bit rehearsal footage with Jack and Bill. I think Jack looks good, Bill ilooks to be struggling with his knees. He had an 8 hour practice the other day with both QS and the teamdance. The 4 hours is out the window now.

I listened to an interview with Bill and thinks his dancing is on life support and has probably reached the end. But who would be other couple if there is a double elimination?

Tom was interviewed and said that there will be a big announcement at the beginning of the show and it is one of these.

1. double elimination

2. new judge

3. another "in Jeopardy" announcement or new twist

4. results show coming back

Official DWTS said no double elimination in the beginning of the week but I think it will be a double one.

Derek said no double elimination in his blog. But I guess all that could be wrong.

But I think Maks is going to be the guest judge tonight. He showed up at the studio a couple times before the season started - caught by paparazzi.

Yeah, I know. No one cares this season. I feel silly posting.

Like I said maybe this spring it will be a more interesting group and people will have a renewed interest.

I do agree that SCD is wonderful this year.

Bill made some comments on his interview that I thought were very telling about this season. I came away with a better understanding.

Also read a blog that the reason they have so much trouble with casting is that people don't have the time and energy commitment to do this show. You go 7 days a week for the time that you are in the competition. It is a big commitment. They will just take a pass plus the embarrasment of competing against those with dance training. There is no way you can look decent dancing along side of them. But I can see how it is a shot in the arm for a sagging career that needs some exposure.

Well I'm just pouting about how they've treated Tristan. I think the ratings are ok -- sort of stabilized from a downward spiral the last few years, but I guess we'll see.

Oh and another reason I don't think they'll have a double elim, is I bet they have another 4-couple final, like last time. With more couples, maybe they think it's more exciting?

Last year, they canceled a show with 9 million viewers and a demo of around 1.5 ("Body of Proof"). But in any case, ABC's dead last in the only thing they care about over here: the demographic of viewers aged 18 to 49.

The average age of a DWTS viewer is now in the 60's. Not good! They should fire showrunner Conrad Green!

I don't know if you guys use the same sort of system but here's some information about demos:

I know. To me Tristan with a young fit contender would be a ratings draw so why they want to go down the road of giving him all older contestants is beyond me.

Also this morning they posted a video of them picking dancing teams and Val and Elizabeth picked Bill as their first choice. Which is confusing everyone??

Snooki went out should have been Leah thought the wrong team won as well. Announcement was that Cher is guest judge next week

I feel bad for Snooki. She had a lot of dancing left in her.

Bill looked shell shocked but I have to admit he made that team dance so for that I am happy for him.

Snooki out and I am not shocked at all. I was expecting it, as I said she has a reputation and many viewers would hold it against her. Not inspiring enough or has a loyal fan base to keep those votes in. Leah was very lucky though.

The Foxy dance was such a hot mess it was actually fabulous!!!

Just wish Elizabeth Botox face had gone. Just don't connect with her at all. Sorry if a little harsh. Brant also is like an empty vessel. I think its just a bad cast this year. Don't know why.

Its also destined in the stars little miss Amber Riley will win. Shock horror!! NOT. Just so obvious. I am kind of watching to see who will get 2nd place. Corbin hopefully <333

Do you get the feeling Snooki was not "acceptable" to win from ABC. Don't get me wrong. She was a good sign up but I imagine the producers where taken back by how good she was. The judges always marked her lower than others and made her appear average when IMO she was in the ranks of Amber / Elizabeth / Brant / Corbin. I suspect foul play and formed this conspiracy theory. I guess we shall never know

Bill is making the show for me. He has such a lovely personality and I actually remember his dances. Unlike some of the others left on the show.

ABC would never cancel DWTS. They can try and "revamp" it many times as they like but would not axe perhaps its most flag ship show.

The Voice is a terrible show but somehow the American younger peeps love it over there. Kind of like how SCD misses out on the younger audience due to the X Factor :sleep:

I am reading that on twitter, blogs and boards. He is not the best dancer but he connecting to the public to get through with that scoring deficit. Almost like he threw a money wrench in the competition and they were not expecting that he would be that popular. It does show that the public has definitely got a say if they are voting for him and a brand new pro.

They called him last tonight to ensure he gets the majority of the "blame" that Snooki left to turn public against him and vote for the "better" dancers.

The producers and judges are so manipulative its grating. It happens on SCD and DWTS every year.

I know. A couple of articlesl today that Bill went to the producers when Snooki was announced but Emma and Val held him back and the producers told him this is how it goes.

Evidently it is the season of the underdog at this point and people are connecting to him liking him more than the good dancers. I think it is because he is working just as hard and he's the underdog and people love an underdog story. Jack and Leah are coming on strong too.


I think for some it is that dilemma of "do I vote for someone I don't like who dances well or someone I do like who dances mediocre." Then there is big debate on the message boards and twitter about who you should vote for.

That's the way it goes.

The judges will be able to get rid of Bill this week because they are bringing back the dance off. I am guessing TPTB had to step in because he is pulling too many votes.

No, I think it is because her demographic is not interested in DWTS plus they like the old Snooki who was drunk all the time and getting in bar fights. She was more entertaining back then. She was popular because she was a train wreck.
What I was reading on the internet was that she was dancing more like a cheerleader and not connecting to Sasha.

That is so sweet - that Bill wanted to go to the producers and change the outcome so that he went home instead of Snooki. And Bill Nye was trying to get Tom's attention just before it was announced he was going home - I'm sure it was to say he wanted to step down, and he couldn't have said nicer things about his brand new pro Tyne.

I really like how just plain nice the guys are this season - the two Bills, Jack, Brant, the football player who left first was very gracious about it, Keyshawn something (and he was very touching when talking about his pro Sharna too). The women are also pretty swell, attitude wise. Valerie - oh mercy - the sweetest woman on the planet - but everybody, really. Even poor Christina - saw her interviewed last night and she was very upbeat about everything despite her surprise early exit.

Though I'm not sure a bunch of "nice" people makes for good ratings :yawn: Snooki had a big personality and that will be missed, imo - and Leah does. Oh and Bill. The rest are pretty frickin' dull. It's gonna be a snoozer when Bill and Leah are gone, even though they're not good dancers.
