I am in the UK too the only one I hadnt heard of was Bill E but I do really like him.

Just watched this weeks show and glad to see him through despite it being obvious the judges wanted him gone. I didnt think Ambers Rhumba was worth a 10 or the top spot but I guess they wanted to save their injured favourites having to dance again.

Cher week was chaotic! What with Cher being... well... shall we say 'idiosyncratic'?, Elizabeth and Val missing their walk-on cue, lights failing during Jack's performance and cameramen tripping over it's a miracle they managed to get to the end .

Good week though. Jack and Corbin were solid, Bill was not great but still immensely likeable, Elizabeth came off as a bit of a diva this week TBH, Leah was OK not great and of course Amber (and Derek's chest) managed to steal the show...

I really don't know who should go next. Either Leah or Bill obviously, but with so many superior dancers already out this is getting to be a tough series to call. Given that people are voting to save dancers next week, the weakest dancer (for me anyway) was Bill. It'll be interesting to see if he gets saved again...

Elizabeth and Val didn't miss their walk-on cue. Watching the East Coast feed live it looked like the producer didn't switch to the right camera in time to capture Elizabeth and Val's (and Amber and Derek's) entrances, but they fixed it before it aired on the West Coast, so my TiVo shows their entrances just fine.

Have any of the remaining dancers been in the bottom two besides Bill?

I don't think Bill has been in the bottom 2 at any time. They just call people out with the statement "not necessarily in the bottom 2" so you have no way of knowing who the other bottom 2 couple is. I think the reason he has been last to be called for several weeks in a row is because the public wants to see if and when his time is up. I am glad they called him safe early this time and Tom let him read the teleprompter himself.

Even though it may be a boring season as far as celebs it has been quite interesting as far who goes home every week. At this point anyone could be in the finals.

Cher week. Worst idea ever. Her music/voice was bad enough (does anyone actually like her music?). But her comments were a waste of air time.

Yes, absolutely love her and love her music but not sure really that there was much point in having her as a "judge", although she has done a load of dancing over her career.

Really liked Corbin and Carina's AT but I did agree with the judges that he wasn't as sharp as the dance demands, loved the lifts they did though. Leah and Tony's VW was pretty but, not enough bloody VW (bit like Natalie!) although their side by side turns were gorgeous.
WTF was Peta's dress for the Foxtrot though? Dear gawd she looked like a high class hooker, specially surrounded by all that tat. Also was a bit too frantic for me, the Foxtrot's supposed to be about grace and elegance and smooth movement across the floor, Fred & Ginger making beautiful lines so I thought it was overmarked.
Elizabeth & Val's dance was dramatic but didn't really do much for me although it suited the music well and she did show some great extensions.

Doh, ran out of editing time. In total contrast, I absolutely loved Bill and Emma, what a fabulous routine that was, utterly camp but brilliant.
Jack and Cheryl's Tango was epic as well. I love him, he's my fav out of everyone with "no" dance experience and he's really developed over the weeks. The judges' comments had me dying with laughter as well.
I really don't like the Rumba but I thought Amber & Derek's was an interesting take on it, the striptease dark and "durty" version of it. Amber does move beautifully though and I liked the fact they twisted things and had the girl running the tempo.

The Dance Off challenge was a tad bizarre but it was quite enjoyable to watch them all having another go. I was a bit surprised at Brant being voted off though, I thought his "pretty boy" looks would have kept him in a bit longer along with the fact he could actually dance quite well. If he was on SCD the two in combo would have given him an auto pass to the final imo!

Brant was the one I thought I would root for in the beginning but he was just so milquetoast and boring despite his good looks and dancing. The same with Elizabeth, she dances well but none of her dances have made me want to go back and watch again or root for her. She seems too tense and anxious for me and sucks the joy out of watching her because I feel she is way up in her head. I am unsure of her fan base.

Now Jack, a few of Amber's and Bill's has been the dancing that I have loved the most. Jack is improving every week, Amber's paso was wonderful (she has been hit or miss for me though) and Bill just dances with abandon. For an older man he is not half bad looking and he has that twinkle in his eye. If i could just convince him to shave his goatee. I am waiting for Corbin to have his breakthrough dance. He has to get past his ringer status also.

I noticed that DWTS is paralleling SCD in that there is a low scorer not getting the boot while a better dancer is going home and all the bruhaha that causes. I see the threads for Dave and Mark with comments both good and bad. Bill also has many who adore him and just as many saying he should have been allowed to quit or should quit or get the hell off the show, not to mention the social media attacks. He is not boring, that's for sure and you never know what he and Emma will come up with every week. I don't really know if he can be compared to Dave or Mark though because I think there is a personality difference. I do think Bill gives his best effort, it is just that he does not pick up choreo easily and I love that Emma sticks to the basic recognizable dance. She could take the easier way out but she doesn't.

For the Gleb admirers they are doing team dances this week and he is dancing with Val and Elizabeth a salsa trio. Just a heads up to look for her dance if you are not watching this series. I believe it will be a good one and she will have her second perfect 10s for the season. . I am disppointed that no one chose Tristan. Have no idea why.

I have watched some of this series but I have to catch up with it as I've been busy with other stuff and my laptop is being repaired

I'm really enjoy reading the comments here though and look forward to catching up with it Re Cher being a judge, I suspect they're doing it to attract more viewers. I know a lot of comments have said that DWTS is going the way of SYTYCD and I know they quite often have a celeb judge on their panel.

What's milquetoast? I didn't mind Brant - he grew on me a little, but not enough to really get behind. Oddly, as I usually find my favourite from amongst the better dancers, all the ones I'm drawn to this season have been at the more duffery end of things. I agree about Elizabeth - she's not relaxing to watch.

I think he suffered from having Peta to be honest. She seemed to want to "sex him up" for want of a better phrase. I'd have liked to have seen him with Karina, I think she'd have made better use of his actual dance talent.


It basically just means boring. Milquetoast is a euphemism for a weak, timid, or bland person. It comes from a cartoon strip.

I agree on both counts. Brant might have been better if Peta had not started down that road with him. Also Peta has a thing about lifts at the expense of dancing and her choreo was to complicated at times, in my mind anyway.

It is tough over on the US boards because there is a lot anger that Elizabeth Corbin and Amber might actually be pushed out by Bill or Jack and those two could make the finals sending dwts into a tailspin.

I wouldn't mind a final with Bill, Jack, Corbin and Elizabeth or Amber. It would certainly be more fun and interesting with the different dance levels and personalities who would actually take the MBT in the end.

As I understand the ratings of dwts are going up and it beat The Voice. That is unusual because it usually dips midseason and then picks up during the finals. I think it is because the public has no idea who is going home each week and really no one can really predict who will make the finals at this point. I thought certain it would be a Corbin, Elizabeth and Amber final but now I am not so sure.

If you had an office lottery that picked Christina, Snooki and Brant going out early people would have said you were crazy.

I am hoping with the combination of increased ratings and the tanking of the Tuesday nite shows that they will bring back the results show next season. .

Yes, I absolutely think the night will belong to Elizabeth. She is dancing last for both her VW and trio salsa last so I am expecting the perfect 60 for score and Len telling her she needs to be in the finals. I am sure her dances will be spectacular and she will that comeback kid story arc from a bad week before. It will be glorious.

I also expect that Len will be quite harsh with Bill and look him in the eye and tell him it is time for him to leave to encourage the voters to please stop voting for him. Bill's public support right now appears to be growing by leaps and bounds.

If you notice when Bill got saved Cher made a comment that sounded like she said bulls@%T and then Carrie Ann and Bruno looked at each other like they were disgusted. The judges will make their push this week to get him out.

Whether or not the voters will agree with Len remains to be seen.

The odd thing is that on Afterbuzz this week it was unaminous from all them that they thought it Liz would be leaving this week. I was really surprised by that. They called it last week with Brant although some thought it would be Leah.
